Hello Chris, I have watched this three times now. It is very helpful. I get my 2021 Tour DCT on Monday Oct 18th. I watched it to revise how to get moving and you made it look simple. I loved the way you explain the controls then demo them, it helps. I am sure over the coming weeks I will read the manual and come back to watch this again. Thank you.

Hi Chris, This is one clear cut information's for the basic control buttons for Goldwing. People say that this motorcycle is a car without a roof & air conditioner & 2 extra wheels. This makes me to push my dream even harder. As i am from India, young chaps here are big suckers for fully faired bikes. Even i was also the same type before when i saw this in flesh of 2020 model. I had switched my dream from super sport/middle weight category to sports tourer. You even push me to my dream even further. Thanks a lot brother. With lots of love from Chennai,India.

Good video FYI when you turn the fob off if you have the trunk or saddle bags open and accidentally place the fob in either it will automatically open. But whatever you do do not leave the fob in the side pocket where the gas button is located. If the fob is turned off and placed in that pocket you can't get in without breaking the door unless you have another fob or the extra key to go thru the emergency start procedure. So whatever you do, do not place the fob in that pocket. The trunk and saddle bags will pop open but not that pocket. Good review for a new rider, ride with pride and have a blessed day.

Great job on the video! I always turn my key fob off when I leave the bike as well. You press and hold the button on it and you will see a small LED light blink once. That indicates it is off and even if you are on the bike nothing will work. It saves the battery inside the fob and is a bit more secure when you are close but out of sight of the bike. To turn it back on do the same thing till you see 3 blinks of the LED. It's been awesome discovering all the high tech features this bike has. It is a truly amazing machine that you will really love,

I just bought a 2023 all blacked out Goldwing DCT touring model, and the heated handgrips and the heated seats buttons work while moving. At least on mine they do. Also, in a future video, mention the front USB connection is also for updating the navigation maps software. I just updated mine, and it took about an hour. The file was about 8.1 gigabytes. I love my Goldwing. it was worth the 3 1/2 month wait.

I have no issues so far. Simply to say, you need to connect and learn how the DCT brain thinks. The DCT has a very smart computer. It is very different from a clutch's behavior. I notice that you have placed two large convex mirrors on the standard mirrors. Why so large? How are you able to see objects in the distance behind with so much space taken up with the large mirrors? II realize the added mirrors are great for "blind spot" coverage.
@chriscaliente50333 жыл бұрын
When looking out of the side mirrors, the side view is difficult because of Honda bad mirror design so I added big blind spot mirrors to focus on my immediate blind spots area, no need for me to look in the mirrors squinting to see 100 yard back.

What impresses me is how much the new GoldWings are The same as older models. I own a gen 2 GoldWing. A 1100 Aspencade. Motor skill memory on foot controls is the same. I had no problem finding brake, shifter on manual, and side stand. My feet went right to them. Hand controls are a different story. lol. I found that the cockpit is vastly smaller compared compared to my classic wing. Seeing more of the ground around the bike, and head buffering is greatly reduced. One thing I'd really like to see on the newer wings is a digital speed gauge along with the analog style gauge. I found it difficult to read. Maybe as a option screen on the infotainment. I recently did a demo of manual and DTC. Found I really like the DTC. I will say that the Goldwing is a crotch rocket with bags! during my demo I tried sport mode. I was on a 3 lane highway. Middle lane had a semi and car. Right lane two cars. Left lane wide open. now I was in the middle lane. I thought what the hell? Lets see what this machine will do. Popped it in sport, and nailed it! Full twist! I expected the bike to pick up fast. What I didn't expect was it dropping 3 gears while doing it. started the pick up at 60 mph. I took 3 seconds to pass the semi and car. Dipped back in the middle lane. slowing down looked at my speed and it said 110 mph!!!!!!! It felt like 80mph on my wing! I got off the highway. Pulled in a parking lot where I could beat the cone out of the seat my ass sucked up. It literally picked the front tire O.F.F. the ground! I did not purchase that day. reason? seat height is 29". My inseam 27". Hard to use all the features, like reverse. One foot stops where another. I've decided I will get a new Wing in trike form. Wife has knee problems and we are both getting up in age, and this will be the last bike I buy. This will solve a multitude of issues. More storage, no feet on pavement, and lastly stable for wife to climb onto.

@@chriscaliente5033 Hi Chris. The comment was an important one as your explanation was incorrect. Modes can be pre-selected while the throttle is open then engaged by closing the throttle. The flashing mode simply indicates that the mode shown has not been engaged. This is also a safety feature because selecting Sport mode accidentally with the throttle closed then opening the throttle expecting tour mode etc will result in an unexpected violent acceleration with consequent loss of control. This has frightened the life out of rookie wingers! You're right. You can't squeeze it all into one video. You did a great job in this one. As an aside, with the dct model you can fold in the left mirror if necessary while riding. NEVER fold in the right mirror. Turning left the brake lever can contact the mirror. The brake will activate and a fall is unavoidable. To park with both mirrors folded, put the steering in full lock to the Right then lock it. Loads of tips on line as you know already. Many are excellent. Enjoy the bike. It's fabulous!

I’m in the market for a 2023 goldwing. I like the bagger look… not a fan of the touring with the trunk. The other bike I’m considering is the K1600 with a trunk. You can remove/reinstall the trunk on the BMW in 2 mins. One plug and you twist a handle inside the trunk and it’s gone. I’m trying to find videos of someone talking about removing the trunk on the goldwing, but it’s either older models or someone saying it’s a 7 hour job to install. Do you know if it’s removable? Ideally I’d like to get the trunk because you get several other features as standard, but I’ll only need the trunk a few times per year on trips, so the versatility of the BMW is way more appealing.
