It's not bad, but they should change the name of the band to The Emptiness Machine. Her grit and tone is OK. Some of us wanna be nice, but being honest, she just can not match Chester's intensity. I like her style, but don't sing the old songs. We know how they go, Chester's tone is burned in our souls, she is matching it just as much as us pro singers can. Watching Mike's face, gestures, and body language says everything. You can tell he is so proud of Emily and happy to have her part of LP. He said in the Zane Lowe interview that they had several people come in and do sessions with the band, just playing around and trying to get a feel for where things were. He said that Emily was the only one who could make his brain accept it as an LP song. What high praise and confidence he has in her and I agree. Was she perfect, no...but that just endeared me even more to her. She is human and I assume full of stress, pressure, and emotion. I also give her a lot of grace as those older songs were not created for her but I thought she adapted well and did them justice. I am more excited to hear her on the new stuff where she was part of the creative process.

Totally agree. We all love and miss Chester and he was both a personality and a voice that can never be replaced. But it's been 7 years. I don't know how anyone can complain they have moved on when it's taken them 7 years after his passing to find a new singer that fits with the band. To me, that's one hell of a grieving process and shows just how hard they've found it without him. I hope all these "fans" that attacked them whenever they didn't make Hybrid Theory 2.0 leave Emily alone and appreciate that these guys get to make amazing music together again.

I fucking love her!! She fits so well in the band. I'm already in love with their new style!! When they played their old songs on the livestream, for me it was like a completely different song. Of course she can't and isn't even supposed to replace Chester, but when I heard her on the older songs, it sounded like brand new... She gave it something that isn't like Chester, it's just somethin different, I hope you get what I mean :D. I just love it!!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS REACTION VIDEO. You fully get it, Chris. Its so LP but its an evolved, new LP, that only a female vocalist could bring in. Emily is amazing. She's basically a female Chester in her own way.

Emily's been on stage for more than 20years. I can't find anyone right now that deserve this recognition more than her. I love her. One of the first time I heard her was in a song called F*ck your rock 'n' roll blues. I have it uploaded on youtube. I was blown away by her singing.

How do you move forward by honoring the legacy. It’s not easy and I just saw the interview in their channel and it’s so beautiful how they told the story. They know each other for years and were working together, making music and it got to a point where all of them thought “…yeah she’s the singer” And Emily told she wanted to make the songs justice as a fan of them and Chester. I’m really glad they’re back 🥹

Exactly right! Great way to pick up the pieces and continue the legacy!

I agree 100%! The female vocals is a very smart move. It complements Chester without her trying to be Chester. Any male vocals would probably get people pissed off with the fact that he’s not Chester. you said it a lot better than I could.

It still feels too similar to Chester. When ppl said to get a female vocalist I’m not sure they meant to go find the female version of Chester. I freaking love her voice I was just hoping for something that went further in a different direction……hell maybe they’ll put out another new song n it’ll totally change my mind about it lol. I kinda hope so bc LP is my favorite band n has been since I was like 12 lol

Watched the whole live premier too, and I'd say she fits the band perfectly - some of the songs didn't sound as good with her, but none of them sounded bad, and some of them were perfect... but the song that was written with her was outstanding. I think she does the old songs justice, but the new songs, I think, will be fire. Mike Shinoda said it best when he said in the introduction, in the part of Chester, you - talking about the audience. She's not there to be a new Chester, she's there to be a part of a band as herself.

My brain is weird and when she sings, I can hear Chester singing it, kind of like when you read a book and you read it in a character voice that you’ve seen/heard in a movie. His essence is still in the music and that is what truly honors him. Also drummer is different too, guess he retired.
@IndiBrony4 ай бұрын
Rob said he couldn't continue with Linkin Park, hence the change. I guess the loss of Chester was too much for him to want to come back to the band in any guise. New drummer is phenomenal, though!

I`m not a big follower of LP but Chester and the band as a whole were great and now with the new girl as the new vocalist it's not a bad idea, they are not replacing Chester 7:25 and I agree with you Chris introducing Emily as the new vocalist girl is not making them expect something as good as with Chester but they want to start like their own new vibes not far from the original and sounds amazing!

@francoisleroux3165 Yeeeeeea I agree for the most part but I have my opinions about DS. I won't put them on blast here but I'll say a lot of my suspicions about the band were more than confirmed here lately. At the core the music is what matters and their early shit rocked. The latter kinda wandered and felt a bit disingenuous and forced. I still like em but we'll save the other stuff for later.

Best part is that they are touring again and writing new music. I'm excited that people will get to experience LP, their shows are absolutely insane. The venue and the light show... chefs kiss.
