OH MY GOSH I FINALLY FOUND IT ONCE AGAIN!! 4 years ago I stumbled upon this masterpiece and was blown away by it. 4 years later and still I am blown away by it. It brings me a sense of nostalgia. Thank you very much for doing this. And I must say, I like this very much more than Animenz's arrangement. Something about this arrangement of yours brings some more and heavier feelings of genuineness :') Thank you so much across the years!!!!
@ChrisLuan3 жыл бұрын
Wow, this means a lot. I wanted to bring out the full depth and motion of the song, hence the deeper base, complexity, and contrasts between quiet introspection and explosiveness. And what better way to relate a motif in the original song back to the legendary My Dearest opening.

I personally love this piece, since imo it is a combination of Ryo's style with some super jazzy chord progression. This arrangement really highlighted that value of uniqueness with perfection. What a shame that you would be going on a hiatus, but I am sure you will surprise us again with you next work. Calling this Pianeet 2.0 won't even be appropriate, because this is Chris Luan.. 请让我继续膜拜!

Yeah, the more I listened to this piece, the more it grew on me. My ears melt every time I hear the jazzy tones in the song. Yeah, I hope I can surpass expectations with my future uploads. I want to thank you for paying special attention to the individuality that each ani-pianist has. In general, I see a lot of comments that compare this pianist to this other pianist. That's fine since everyone is entitled to an opinion, but it's also (if not even more) important to recognize the unique style and character that each person has. Anyways, the next upload should be hyped (btw, it's from Your Lie in April, for those of you who don't follow my FB page.)

You are truly my idol :) Looking forward to your next work man ! I can't wait your Shigatsu ED 2 :D PS. btw, has the sound quality worsen a bit ? the sound quality in Reverie and Psycho Pass are much better imo :/

I know that feel. It really hits home to know when people are going through the same thing. I felt you, especially after you made that post about rifampicin inhibiting the beta subunit of prokaryotic RNA polymerase. lol I'm glad I'm able to influence the community like this. I hope I can expand my influence even more in the future. Yeah, I don't know why the sound quality is worse. It's been bad ever since after I recorded COLORS. (The sound quality in ninelie is also meh.) If I weren't so swamped already, I'd have looked into audio engineering/mastering and my USB audio converter and Ableton settings. But you know, my viewers can actually help me by finding someone who is willing to master my tracks or giving me advice on audio quality and recording. So what you're doing affirms my suspicion about my audio quality. I appreciate the feedback!

Thanks. Actually, I haven't been able to experiment much. My issue now is in audio mastering. Seems like if I messed up the track in audacity, I'll have to process the video again, and make this "unofficial," because everyone deserves better audio quality where possible. Rachmaninoff is awesome. His Liebesleid transcription is stunning. I didn't know about it until Your Lie in April though. So good.

Dude, you made my day... Such a wonderful arrangement. Your style is very unique, I really love it, and god, your runs are very impressive, it seems like a spider is running on the keys! Some of the patterns are very original! This My Dearest part was totally incredible too. Speaking of that, I'm sorry to ask you that, but I wanted to know if you could give me some advice, because the left hand of the chorus of your My Dearest part seems pretty similar to Theishter's one: I'm currently learning My Dearest (Theishter version), and I'm struggling with the left hand on the first chorus. This is like a "rolling" pattern, with a big interval (10th I think), and my hands, even with practice, just can't do it properly; it needs too much accuracy, I always hit the wrong note, because of this interval! :/ Thank you for your awesome music, good luck with your studies (I know what you feel for the "work and sleep" issue :/), and see you in a next video! :)
@ChrisLuan7 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Oh, I didn't know that my cover shared common elements to Ishter's My Dearest cover. Interesting. Can you link a picture of the relevant section of the sheet music? (Specific details will better help me tailor my advice for you. If you don't mind, I'd also like to know your maximum hand span and comfortable hand span.) Yeah, if I really need to, I'm willing to sacrifice some sleep to achieve my goals. Ideally, everything in life (for me) would be on a clear-cut hierarchy of priorities.

@해물탕-q2q7 жыл бұрын
Chris Luan (阮克理) How about Colors??
@ChrisLuan7 жыл бұрын
For most of my covers, the length of the song is proportional to its difficulty. This holds since the arrangements draw on challenging techniques. So given that the technical difficulties are comparable, I expect that the longer the song, the more greater the chance of erring. Therefore, length can be a direct indicator of difficulty.

yooo nice cover man, I have a question. I have a 76 key digital piano rather than 88 keys.How do I make do with the keys that I have when some peices have keys to play that I don't have thx and carry on man the subs are comming. One day I 'll post a cover when I get as good as you man.How are studies?
@LangKuoch7 жыл бұрын
_HAN_MAN_ If you don't have the highest and lowest keys on the piano, a simple fix could just be to shift whatever you're playing for that passage/section/individual note an octave up or down.
@TheRaxin12467 жыл бұрын
but it's for an arpeggio so i have to push the same key twice? it sounds really weird when i do that
@LangKuoch7 жыл бұрын
_HAN_MAN_ Hmm. You could try starting the arpeggio one key lower (like, if it starts out with c e g c..., start with g c e g... instead) or you could try bringing the entire arpeggio one whole octave lower. Not sure what you think would work better (which may also depend on the piece as well). Maybe someone else has other methods to tackle this issue
@ChrisLuan7 жыл бұрын
+HAN_MAN That is tough, since even my digital keyboard is 88 keys. In the case of a limited register, you could try narrowing your common area (that's the nature of a limit) and leave the lowest and highest notes for special chords. Aim to shift extreme notes/chords/runs towards the middle, even if you have to change the song.
@TheRaxin12467 жыл бұрын
so I skip parts of the song to not make it sound weird?

@ChrisLuan6 жыл бұрын
This is kinda vague man. I'd love to help but there's only so much I can practically do. This is like students coming to a review session asking the professor to review everything because they don't know what they do or don't know. Can you be more detailed? Also, I know it may be difficult due to the nature of English, but it would help if you were more precise - for example, what do you mean by "understanding" a chord?
