It's actually great that you are actually giving step by instructions. Your other videos that just show the machine running really don't help anyone.

Hi Chris. Thanks for this video. The most powerful part was there at the end where you showed your failures. As a newbie, I have lots of those. It helps my attitude to know I'm not alone. Much appreciated.

That’s really cool! My favorite part was when the router started smoothing out the layers of the spoon that it had made. Don’t miss this video!

Thanks Chris! I've been trying to hammer in just how to create a bowl of a spoon / bowl for my CNC! And here ya are showing me! D'Oh!... I just have to manipulate it to Aspire, since I don't use Carbide Create Pro on my Shapeoko Pro (which has yet to even see electricity! - It's just sitting out in the cold waiting for Spring to arrive!). I do believe with your assistance here, I will have many projects lined up this Summer! Thanks Chris! Keep up the fantastic Maker Work! Hammer those videos away!

@@ChrisPowellFSD I have 2 Shapeoko's. The Pro & SO3. They are in unheated shops right now, so, since the temps here are like -30's for the past 3 weeks, nothing will happen in my sheds until April - May I figure. I was carving Tree Rounds with 3D Bas Relief models this past fall. Lots of "Awesomes" at our Christmas Craft Show this past December (Proof Of Covid Req'd to enter), so sales this year sure SUCKED! But the Awesomes inspired many. We sold a few, but the population just wasn't there. What is IG? And I don't like Facebook too much, other than our A&M Craftwerks page, where you can see what we are up to. Take care, Chris! TTFN...

Chris, I was looking for good project to do as my first 2 sided job and decided a spoon would be good. Found a file on CutRocket but didn't understand how he got there. I am now following your video going step by step so that I understand it better. There is a lot of power in that 3D modeler in CCPro but I haven't grasped all the intricacies of it yet so having videos like this really help. I do notice that your RPM are way lower than what I typically use. I am not an F&S expert and generally take the defaults which tend to be in the 12k-18k range but you are showing more like 6k-8k. Given that it has been a long time since you made this video, do you still think those are good values? Also, your DOC was deeper than my defaults which cause my runtime values to be significantly greater than yours. I am going to try a 1/8" tapered ball nose for the finishing passes rather than the #102.

How would you do a treasure chest lid? Every design I try curves in from all 4 sides, instead of just long edges
@ChrisPowellFSD3 жыл бұрын
Carbide can be tough to manipulate. The 3d really isn’t very good. Maybe you can make it longer than needed and cut off the ends somehow.
@JohnColgan.3 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisPowellFSD thanks for quick reply. I had thought that option, and give it steep angle to minimise ends bowing in .... I'd hate to have to go back to Easel, not had time to practice on CarveCo

It might be something that’s just easier to model up in a program like fusion 360. Sometimes shapes like that can be a little difficult in cnc router software.

How did you get 15. The latest version I can find is 14? It does not have a rough 3D operation.

Hi Chris; I'm wondering... if you are able to add text along a curve on the Z ? In other words the inside of the spoon?
@ChrisPowellFSD4 жыл бұрын
You should be able to, but you wouldn’t be able to v carve them. You would do them last, and just subtract them from the design. It should follow the curve that’s there.
