ANOTHER TEST WOULD BE TO PUT 3 POUNDS IN THE BOTTLE...THEN LEAVE IT ON THE SCALE. THROTTLE UP AND SEE WHAT WEIGHT REMAINS ON THE SCALE. THE DIFFERENCE IS YOUR MAX LIFT WEIGHT!
@WyvernApalis
@WyvernApalis 7 жыл бұрын
Joshua Rodriguez the wind from the props will push on the scale though
@joshsun85
@joshsun85 7 жыл бұрын
Very true. Didn't think of that. The work around is to have the string at a length like 10 feet so it wot effect it. Also this brings up a good point... wouldn't the wind with the current set up effect the load as well?

Awesome! Two ideas. Use a fish scale upside down as that will measure the exact pull. Secondly, I'd LOVE to see how it does if you loop the string through the feet and try to lift from "behind" the center of gravity. Awesome stuff though man.

Nice vid!! Phew, could only imagine what your Mavic would need to have done to be in good refurbished condition LOL. Just got mine and am extremely PROTECTIVE over it and can’t even imagine doing the things you do to yours to mine but it helps with questions I had/have not to mention know what NOT to do. Haven’t even flown it yet until I watch more vids so I don’t have a heart attack and lose/damage mine. Subscribed 😌

weight X on scales. Attach Mavic. go to full throttle and look at weight on scales again. Minus 2nd weight from the first and that should give you its maximum lift in one try? Ps think sports mode would make a difference

corey bkguy I think it will do the opposite. I'm not an expert on this matter, but I think faster gears mean more speed and less power. If you look at a car, you can get a higher speed in second gear than in first gear, but the first gear will pull a higher total weight. I don't know if the gears in a drone will work in the same way tho, but I would definitely be interested to see an experiment on this subject.

Warren NZ It does not appear to be designed for any lifting of weight. There's no carriage below for attaching items. The only thing it's designed to do is fly. If it were designed for lifting, there'd be variable pitch props and larger motors and a place to attach cabling that doesn't affect CG of aircraft.
@warren52nz
@warren52nz 7 жыл бұрын
Of course, I agree. it just seems a coincidence that the test led to 1 Kg on the nose. One thing occurred to me; if you put your hand up close underneath it while it's hovering it will rise. Either the cameras or the ultrasonic detector must sense it and lift up to avoid it. This makes me wonder that if you suspended something under it too close to the aircraft would it start rising and never stop?
