David Corenswet, the new Superman Actor, was the one who convinced James Gunn to add the trunks back because he believes Superman despite being an OP alien he wants to not be scary looking for the people or even children and the trunks will make him look goofy but at the same time a friendly superhero. Because of that, it sold me. This is the start of DCU so they added the other heroes but James Gunn said that he won't put in much in screentime but just to introduce them but won't pull the focus away to Superman. Btw, the Yamcha pose made my conviction solid to watch this film lol.

This is the Superman movie I've been waiting on for decades, based off the trailer. It's colorful. The riff on the old theme. LOVE the suit. Love the colors of the suit. This is the best distinction between Clark/Superman we've seen in decades as well. Him saving people. The little boy calling for Superman made me tear up a bit. It's heroic, inspiring, powerful, and he seems like he's vulnerable in multiple ways. For a TEASER, it did it's fucking job. I was already excited for Superman, but it's now shot up to my second most anticipated movie PERIOD, behind The Batman Part II. I think Gunn might have actually pulled it off. And with almost zero dialog. LOVE IT!!!

Solid teaser. A touch of dread with a hopeful finish. That's more Superman then we got in the Justice League movie.... James Gunn just seems to have a thing for CGI dogs. I think that's the only reason he did this Superman movie. My favorite bit I think was just Green Lantern, Mr Terrific, and Hawkgirl walking in to support Superman. Superman needs a real support structure. I'm wondering what's going one with the giant orb energy thing that's destroying the city and Superman is just like "nah Lois". The suit I wasn't concerned about the looseness of the suit. Also felt it would look good when he's moving around and color grading. Also, you don't laser someone because they chucked a can at you. Curious what Revolver Lex is doing.

Didn’t even know there was a new SuperMan movie coming out until my brother asked if I had seen the trailer, Thursday. Although, I loved Zack Snyder’s “Justice League” (that and “Infinity War” are my favorite movies)…and “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, I had lost interest in superhero stuff. Though, I did return to the theatre for the first time since COVID to watch “Deadpool & Wolverine”, which was a blast. But I watched the trailer and it hit ALL the right beats! Chills, tears, and such an uplifting feeling. I don’t know why I was so shocked by Krypto, because it is Gunn at the helm…but when SuperMan whistled, I was like, “ok…take my money…I’m going back to the theatre.”

Looks good. Different to what I was expecting. I probably would’ve preferred a more simple plot with less additional characters in it but still excited. The suit looks better for sure here but it still seems a bit off to me. Love the trunks though!!

I can’t really pinpoint it, maybe it’s the highlights looking really blown out, but something about the cinematography just looks a bit off. Looks almost like a TV commercial or something. Something about it is lacking a cinematic feel for me, but I’m really loving the designs of everything and David looks absolutely perfect.

Aspect ratio isn't that 1:85/2:35 that we are used to seeing. Not too many wide shots with "empty" space on the sides. Very bright and not mid day or night time. Most importantly in the scene in the trailer. The Camera is kinda placed in bystander spots. Like you were standing there looking at action. Vs a camera that's floating around in the air.

I like some elements about this. The flying into the sky shot is definitely a Zack Snyders man if steel idea. The dog seems kind of hokey to me. Could be good if they get the depth right .

Just a heads-up: Chris adjusted the color tone on the trailer, possibly due to copyright concerns. However, the original trailer's color grading was much more vibrant and hopeful. Gunn's intention is to bring back hope and vitality to a universe that had grown dark. On that note, I'm really looking forward to seeing Krypto in action, haha!

I thought it was ok. I have to watch it a few more times. I still think the original superman with Reeves will be tough to beat because they already had the secret sauce established. It's still a fantastic movie to this day. I think Dave wil be great as Superman but there seems to be too many characters. That is what I fear. Everytime this is done, you can't seem to focus on enough character development. This is what marvel did very well. Had separate movies for each character, tying you emotionally to them and the high stakes. Gunn is a smart guy....he knows what people want so I will trust what he comes up with.

I think we are all too used to the muscle suits. The point of the suit is to add another layer of protection. If the suit was skin tight, thered be a lot of naked supes flying around and that wouldnt be good. So while the suit "looks baggy" as some are saying, I think thats what it would look like. Little bit of bulkier areas, like in his shoulders as an added bit of protection in those high-use areas. And this is suit one. There will be updates as we go, and as he gets bigger and stronger.

I'm on the fence, and will likely remain so till I see the finished movie. However, some early thoughts...It seems very akin to the animated series. I enjoy that show, but I'm not sure I wanted a live action version. Thought the suit looked better than the still shots. Didn't like the inclusion of the Kaiju. Guy Gardner might have a comic accurate look but it looks goofy on screen. Thought Nicolas Hoult looked good as Luthor and liked the shot of the kid in Asia praying for Superman. Loved the haunting vocals in the motion poster, but didn't like the guitar riff of Williams theme anywhere near as much. Not an immediate fan of Clark's look, but at least they're trying to add an element of realism in hiding his identity. Finally, and I suspect this might not be popular - not a fan of including Krypto with powers. Just a regular dog called Krypto, fine, but again this just seems a bit goofy to me. Still very much hoping the movie will be great regardless of my reservations.

The media makes the movies feel bad and makes us feel bad/Sad can just see the movie if we don’t or do love/Like it. I’m not hated on James. I like he’s movies. I just love Zach. If I’m being brutally honest, I was… Underwhelmed by it. I know it’s just the first teaser and we’re gonna get A TON of other trailers and commercials moving forward, but this first teaser didn’t get me excited like I hoped it would. So far, I don’t like the color grading of this movie. Coming off the heals of that teaser image of the Superman logo and that motion image with Superman and Krypto sitting on the moon with the Earth spinning in the background, both of which had color schemes that were vibrant and colorful, the color grading from this teaser just looks surprisingly drab (even washed out in parts) with its grayish light blue tinting. I thought this movie would look WAY more colorful than this. I’ve watched this teaser 5 times already and I felt nothing when watching it. My opinion might change as we get closer to the release and the marketing comes full swing, but at this time, it just looks like another generic blockbuster to me. I was disappointed by this trailer. :/

Superman crashing into the frozen North Pole area fake as hell with bad croped editing. Superman crater only a foot deep and crater diameter is barely 6 feet. That scene could have been so much more badass. Snow and icepack should've been cleared and Superman should've been partly embedded in a smoke/heat releasing bedrock from the friction of the alien body high impact. Then the goofy caped dog just added insult. But, having said all the above, the trailer has grown on me and I'm really excited about an IMAX viewing of this James Gunn iteration of Superman. I'll overlook the weak icy impact crater and whimpy enbedding of Superman 8 inches into soft snow.

I don't understand Gunn's continuation to keep showing Superman in these less than heroic shots. I want to see this Superman look triumphant, before I see him dirty or panting, bleeding in the snow. And the rest of the trailer did nothing for me either. But before someone calls me a Snyder shill, I thought his DCEU was atrocious. It's a shame I won't see a proper DC cinematic universe in my lifetime. Oh well, I kind of accepted that when Gunn was announced the new studio head. Telling how he didn't put that he was the director of the box office bomb The Suicide Squad though it directly connects to this shared universe. Just saying. Attack if you must, but be assured your replies will say more about you than it will about me but I'm ready. Otherwise to the more rational of your viewers: it's just my opinion. Maybe the next trailer will sell me on this "reboot".

It took me awhile to appreciate Snyder's Superman. I thought BvS and Man of Steel were poor offerings, but I really liked his JL. This offering from Gunn...I will skip this one. It feels empty to me, like there's no soul to any part of it. I don't know how to describe it. There's nothing there for me as a Superman fan, and that's okay. I can always go rewatch any other version of Superman that I like and be perfectly happy.

Probably to show that even though he isn’t “human”, he’s still human. We’re getting a vulnerable Superman that gets the shit kicked out of him, bloody and tired, but keeps getting back up. Similar to Raimi’s Spider-Man. We’re probably getting a complex character driven movie. I do wish they showed a couple shots of him smiling though or looking more heroic.

My guess is that he will earn being “triumphant” by the end of the film. Though it isn’t a full-on origin story, it seems like a coming of age story for Clark. It looks to me like Superman will be somewhat of a public enemy for the majority of this movie

I REALLY hate his Clark hair...the broccoli hair style does nobody any favors at all. Still not sold on the suit. Looks too much like a BMX suit and less like a heroes suit. I love Krypto and the nods to Adventures of Superman with the "Daily Planet Building" plaque on the wall outside. The Daily Planet globe is very Superman Returns...

I think you're an easy sell, that's not a dig, you're excited and that's awesome, but to me this looks like SNL alum Chris Katana and a bleached "Benji"... Benji was a dog in movies in the 70s. I wasn't a fan of the Caville Superman, for me we got the perfect Superman in 1978. Both Superman and Krypto were majestic looking, I don't see that here. Alan Ritchson is the perfect actor to Superman, he looks like a man of Steel. Is seeing Superman being rescued by his dog after he got his ass kicked really the first image you want your audience to see? I think it's bad for the Superman franchise, another Hollywood movie that doesn't seem to get its main character. The movie opens to mixed reviews and a line of toys get made that don't sell and Superman gets put back on the shelf because "the Character" under performs. We have the technology to make flawless looking movies, imagine a new Superman movie made with the kind of cinematography we have, like the scene from Winter soldier that starts in the elevator and ends with Captain America flying off the motorcycle taking out the plane and landing in a perfect cinematic adaptation of what we loved in the comic books. I love Superman, This isn't Superman... What a missed opportunity to make the greatest Superman movie of all time about the man of steel and truth justice and the American way... Glad you're excited Chris, wish I was.
