I was pleasantly surprised by Channing Tatum’s Remy LeBeau. I also liked Taylor Kitsch as Gambit. However I love that Channing was a version from the original animated series. His accent was very good.
@shawnfields23693 ай бұрын
@@MisssKayyYeah, me too. Surprising, considering how good Taylor Kitsch was in X-Men Origins, as Gambit. But Channing Tatum's portrayal of Gambit, was definitely better than I was hoping for, and considering that Gambit and Wolverine are my favorite members of the X-Men, he gave me more than I was expecting, and I already enjoyed Channing Tatum in the 21/22 Jump Street movies with Jonah Hill and Ice Cube. But wow, I really wish he'd gotten his own separate movie now...but as usual, Blade was pure awesomeness incarnate, without stealing the spotlight from Wade or Logan, and I'm glad they gave Electra another chance, because I thought Jennifer Garner being cast as Electra was a great idea, even if her movie was just her pretending to be Black Widow, and I'm glad Johnny Storm got to come back, but honestly, I thought it was either Cap or Ghost Rider at first. But I'm also glad that Magneto's Brotherhood makes a return, Mephisto, Toad, Sabertooth (the annoying long haired one, from the original X-Men movies, not the one from the Origins movie, which also had a crappy Gambit), who gets punched out by Logan. And I actually enjoyed Chris Evans' version of Johnny Storm back in the other 2 Fantastic Four movies, especially the Silver Surfer movie. Even if they screwed up Galactus, they at least TRIED to have Galactus in the second Fantastic Four movie. But too bad we never got that Gambit standalone movie. Gambit's such an iconic character; like Wolverine, that I'm surprised he never got his own movie. But then again, they tried to give Logan his own movies, and only Origins was really THAT bad. Until Deadpool 2. But still, tell me you wouldn't want to see Remy have had his own movie spinoff, at least, in some other universe, where he's taken somewhat seriously, but still has his sense of humor, even if he sounded like he was gargling marbles mostly. But to be fair, Gambit's s ALWAYS sounded like that, whether it was the movies/games/cartoons, he's ALWAYS had that accent. Even though I still think highly of Remy, It's been one of the things people like to make fun of poor Remy for. But, Channing Tatum's portrayal was a lot better than I would've expected. Especially for a character who SHOULD'VE had that movie, but didn't. He had some ridiculous moves, and he wasn't always unintelligible. But I do appreciate their sense of humor though. And the fact that he has the comic and cartoon accurate costume, was fan service, sure, but it's fan service that works well. Even if they're nobly sacrificing themselves. They definitely proved that they deserved better. A shame Punisher and Daredevil didn't get that, but eh, whatever, it's fine. I'm not complaining, it was the best time I had seeing a Marvel movie since No Way Home. Also, sorry if I went on TOO long.

@shawnfields23692 ай бұрын
@@RaskylC Yes, same here. He sounded EXACTLY like Gambit from the X-Men cartoons! EXACTLY like how Gambit is SUPPOSED to sound, and FINALLY, somebody FINALLY gets Ol' Pool Boy right, (besides the comics and cartoons, the original X-Men cartoon, the sequel, X-Men: Evolution, and of course, the recent one, that's ASTOUNDINGLY perfect, "X-Men '97"... which I haven't seen yet), and as an X-Men fan, who's favorite members of the X-Men are Gambit and Wolverine, I'm sorry, and I apologize for this. I never thought Channing Tatum would be the one who'd give us the BEST live action Gambit, but seriously, he NAILED it perfectly. Yes; someone out there, give this guy his OWN standalone film ALREADY! We've been waiting for YEARS and YEARS for Gambit to get his own leading role! He's so COOL, and AWESOME, and one of the only other X-Men who can actually try to stand on their own, or even against Logan, even if it's a Logan or a Gambit from another multiverse, dimension, etc., whatever. As long as it doesn't end up being the Gambit equivalent to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I don't think there's any way they could mess that up. But then again, maybe they could... but if you don't try, how can you know? The world NEEDS more live action standalone Gambit movies...sure, we ALL love Wolverine, but where's the love for Pool Boy? I mean, I didn't even KNOW most of the other mutants from X-Men Origins (Agent Xero, whoever the hell Will. I. Am's character even was, Logan's girlfriend, I barely even recognized both The Blob and even Gambit in the movie. Sabertooth was ok, and Wolverine was obviously the best and only performance in Origins that didn't make me want to bash my head against a wall. And maybe Ryan Reynolds', but BEFORE he gets turned into Cypool. And only because of what happened in Deadpool 2, with him and Cable...which was hilarious and actually made Origins have SOME worth, instead of being the Devil May Cry 2 of the X-Men movies. Because we all know Wolverine deserved better. And also, it wasn't just Tatum's accent that was comic accurate, but the outfit, and his weapon too. Also, sorry if I took forever here. But yeah, dude, I definitely agree, we need more Channing Tatum Gambit, with the comic book accurate accent, outfit, and weapons, both his staff and the cards? Definitely need them. That's a HUGE part of WHY and one of the reasons HOW Gambit's able to be so cool in the first place! The way he handles his staff, and the playing cards, and his personality, the quips he's usually making, how cool he he ALWAYS is, there's just no way to make a lame Gambit, no way at all. But they were close to ruining Iceman and Havoc in live action, but didn't. Believe me, we ALL need more of Channing Tatum's amazing job of portraying Gambit. They gave Ryan Reynolds another chance, and look how far we've come since then. We're seeing other characters getting another shot, and redeeming themselves. So let's let the others do the same.

Since Wolverine's ALWAYS been my favorite member of the X-Men, ever since the original X-Men cartoon, because of how awesome he's always been. Same with Gambit. But it's nice to know that Laura still kept her gift from Wolverine from the movie Logan. Always a nice touch and a nice way to remember that THIS universe's Logan died fighting for what he believed in, and died as not just a hero, but what felt like a real superhero. And I'm glad Deadpool didn't decide to desecrate Logan's grave from that movie either, and just decides to travel to different multiverses instead. Is it weird that Channing Tatum's Gambit costume looks absolutely ridiculous but looks good also? Like it's like they made it intentionally look bad but also intentionally good.
@shawnfields23692 ай бұрын
@@rogueguardian Nope, not at all. Sure, he kinda looks like he's auditioning to play some kind of 80's fitness instructor Gambit, rather than the 90's comic accurate/90's cartoon accurate Gambit, and when I showed my Mom how Gambit looked, she laughed hysterically, and thought Gambit was someone in a bad Halloween costume. Mainly because she doesn't even know who Gambit is...but as someone who's a MASSIVE fan of Gambit, and who's favorite members of the X-Men are Gambit and Wolverine, this film did BOTH characters so well, it's astounding how insanely well Channing Tatum did as Gambit, because it's almost like he studied the 90's X-Men cartoon, and 90's comics, before playing Gambit. Because he got everything about Remy right. And when I saw everything, I mean it. The staff, the insanely ridiculous outfit, that you wouldn't think would actually look sort of cool in live action, but somehow, they managed to get it right, and I also mean his card abilities too, because just like the cartoons, his card abilities in this film are almost, lifted EXACTLY from the comics and cartoons. Like his every move in the film is a reference to a specific comic panel, or an episode of the X-Men cartoons, the original one, or Evolution, or the newer one, '97. So no, honestly, I don't think its really weird that Channing Tatum's Gambit costume looks as ridiculous as it does. Deadpool's and Wolverine's costumes get ridiculous, but they definitely worked. Especially Wolverine's full costume, from the cartoon, with the cowl and all. That was the BEST Wolverine costume I've ever SEEN, and Deadpool's costume has always looked amazing, so no real problems on that front. But I was NOT expecting neither Gambit nor Wolverine to look even COOLER than they ALREADY did, previously. Seriously, I didn't think it was even possible to take the 2 coolest X-Men (Gambit and Wolverine), and somehow, make them EVEN COOLER than ever. But they did it. They gave Logan his animated series costume, with the cowl, and it looked like most awesome costume ever made. And Gambit? Maybe it was meant to be both somehow intentionally bad and good, at the same time, but it still looked cool, and is accurate to Gambit's costume from the comics and animated series. He's always had the awesome trenchcoat, with the staff and playing cards, and Cajun accent. But Tatum managed to pull it off so well, it's like he jumped DIRECTLY out of the X-Men animated series, and onto the film that Gambit fans( like me), had always wanted to see him in.

I will be honest, I was never a fan of the first two movies, specially the second one which I disliked, but I like Deadpool and I love Wolverine and Hugh Jackman returning to the role made me give it a chance. I didn't see or hear any spoilers and I watched it on opening night... Every single cameo gave me goose bumps, the film was beautifully directed, I enjoyed every bit of it (maybe not so much the Wade with a wig part, I think it dragged on a bit). The choice in music was also fantastic and to my surprise Wolverine just happens to wear his mask at the end like, WHAT??? FINALLY!!! And we FINALLY get a good Gambit! I love that character and I hope we get to see more of him. Loved it so much I had to go watch it again and I'm sure I won't be able to hold the urge of watching it a third time.

To be fair, of the four of them, she was almost a given. She was a big part of the Logan movie, and we have to assume that Deadpool would acknowledge the Logan continuity(I mean, he already did in Deadpool 2). So if we are bringing Wolverine back, somehow, we will probably also see X23. How big of a role(small cameo or actual role) would be another matter. I think they worked it in nicely.

Wasn't the character that they didn't get along. Wesley himself doesn't like RR
@shawnfields23692 ай бұрын
@@zom8680 Yeah, BECAUSE of when they were on set of "Blade: Trinity", from 2004, Ryan Reynolds and Wesley Snipes didn't get along, at ALL. They absolutely LOATHED each other, and I think Snipes wanted Ryan Reynolds actually dead, or at least wanted him fired from Blade Trinity. Which wasn't a great movie and was easily a lazily made Blade movie. Which was a shame, it was a disaster, and felt more like a bad parody of Blade, instead of the Blade 3 we should've had. Plus, Ryan Reynolds vs. Triple H, wasn't a completely terrible idea, just an awful execution at the time. But I wouldn't want to see Ryan Reynolds reprise his role as Hannibal King or anything like that...because I don't even know if he's an actual Blade character, from the comics, or just an original character made up for the movie. I mean, Blade Trinity was easily the worst of the Blade movies, but it still does some things right, and still had some pretty cool fights. Also, sorry, I rambled on too long.
