Christian's answers were perfect. I like that he said "debate is healthy". Very professional answer. I cannot believe that Mr. Scott did not read the Old Testament before making this. It is unbelievable. Why would you make something so many people care about and not go to the effort to make sure you make it as true and real as you can? Why make the film at all in that case? Rather make a superhero movie about a fictional marvel character (which I would watch) that no one worships. The kid/Malak representation of G-d was my biggest issue with this movie. A voice from heaven would have been fine, a whisper on the wind would have been fine, an angel would have been fine, an old man would have been fine. But the kid came across as childish and petulant. (Great child actor, but the character didn't work.)

I think Joel Edgarton did a really great job - I do believe his performance as Ramesses was quite good. He manages to go from an unsure leader to a tyrant to a heartbroken father and Joel pulled that off brilliantly. The fact he's so damn good looking certainly helps. I wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers.

Visually stunning, yet lacking in spirituality. Which is at the core of such and ancient and Biblical story. It's portrayal of God, shows the psychology behind the screenwriters, when penning this film.

I agree, the lack of spirituality and heart is the deal: That horrible script transformed Moses in some kind of atheist antipathetic soldier and basically seems that they just did a great spectacle without soul. P.S. The Prince Of Egypt is 10 times better in every way.

My girl friend & I watched this movie yesterday. We: love this movie; incredible movie; not boring; feel like it's real (even if we did not see it on 3D or Imax); you feel their characters; as if you are part of the movie; Bale's a great actor; Ramsey's up there w/Bale in acting. Though there's some changes, after reading the Director's explanation, I did try to accept those changes. I do hope this epic movie gets an award/awards! For me, this movie is not racist just because the main characters’ white. For me, it's worth watching!

Beyond race or historical accuracy, the REAL issue is the extraction of the "God of the Bible" from the narrative. Ridley even said he does not buy/believe the Biblical account of God speaking to Moses from heaven so he "changed" it. The same thing happened with the Noah movie earlier this year. These movies are powereless from a spiritual/redemptive perspective because the Biblical account has been trashed. Say what you will about Mel Gibson's personal life, but he got "The Passion of The Christ" darn near perfect in terms of the Biblical/historical account. And you know what?... Hollywood HATED him with a PASSION. As a result, the hollywood croud began distancing themselves from him and Jim Caviezel. Hollywood has NOT made any attempts to discredit this movie nor the Noah film. While they went to extremes to rip the Passion of The Christ to shreds. Ask yourselves why??
@TomaszWota10 жыл бұрын
Who cares? There are two important things here. One - Noah was much better fantasy movie with a cool massive battle scene, and two - there's no evidence for God's existence. What Hollywood thinks about movies with God in it doesn't matter all that much. Even if they would have agenda against God - it wouldn't prove that it exists in any way.
@vindemiatrix10 жыл бұрын
Tomasz Wota actually, the fact that they work against Biblical truths and against the work of God is evidence in and of itself that Hollywood HAS to actively work against "something" ...which in an odd way shows that even Hollywood believes there is a God - why else would they work to constantly discredit Him to save their profits?
@TomaszWota10 жыл бұрын
vindemiatrix "Actually" - no it doesn't show in any way that they believe in God. It's reminds me of an old argument against atheists - they say they don't believe in God all the time, but hey - they wouldn't be so vocal about it if they didn't actually believed in him! They're probably just mad at him! Well duh, it's the same kind of stupid. If I speak out against the claim that the God (capitalized, hence of the Bible) is pure love it doesn't mean I believe God actually exists, it means I've read the thing and God kills a lot of innocents in these stories. But I guess killing innocents is how God shows his infinite love. Even if - and that's a big if - Hollywood would have an agenda against belief in Christian (or whatever other) god, then that is not an evidence for existence of that particular god. I mean, come on. It just doesn't follow. Think about it. There's no connection beyond a superficial jump.

My favorite director, one of my favorite actors. Such a disappointing adaptation. The only way the movie works is to assume the audience knows the bible or has seen the Ten Commandments (1956). Otherwise, there's no character introductions or development. There's an assumption of prior awareness by the audience yet the director shuns a deep awareness of the original material. It feels like the material needed to make this film work was left on the editing room floor.

People say Moses didnt exist but he did exist, there is tangible and empirical geological and historical data that proves it and there are far too many accounts of his existence that come from entirely different sources with entirely different origins that its impossible that he didn't exist. And the plagues were justified as the right thing because God of Moses (Allah in Arabic, Elloh or (Eloh) in Old Hebrew) created everything and there is nothing else that sustains all existence except Him. So anyone who believes or worship anything other than Him and oppresses his creation has no room in existence, because even the air Eqyptian's inhaled was His creation, space and time dimension their bodies occupied, even their human bodies as well as their souls were His creation. He created everything out of nothing, so everything is His whether He punish it or bless it, its His will, no one has any say in it. There is just no room for anyone who believes in anything else, not on this planet neither in space. Because He created **everything** and when someone believes in anything or anyone other than Him, then they lose right to **everything**. People with alternate false believes only exist and receive sustenance to complete the life time that has been allotted to them and that is it and nothing more. There is absolutely nothing for a non believer, any kind of plague or punishment is justified for a non believing oppressor and Egyptions were the worst of the oppressors.
