Honestly the most frustrating part about this movie is how often the pilots communicate strategy with eachother. I mean, I get that it's the whole concept of teamwork and such, but did the writers completely forget that the pilot's brains are literally connected?

For me it was the inconsistency with the mass of the robots, one moment you've got a heavy looking duty Jaeger and then the next it's moving unrealistically fast even for advanced technology (if there was any improvements at all to the previous) could plausibly do, I don't care how mang thrusters, servos, gears, or speed enhancing modules fromt the future you have mass will evidently cause it to move slow still. In the first movie you could feel the power behind that punch, you could feel Gipsy Danger as she was tossed or as she fell, in this movie it feels like that power in their mass jumped ship.

In the first film they managed to make it move fast but kept that heavy and powerful feel to it. It made the fast, new and more advanced Jeager still believable. Eureka alone kinda makes all of the other Jeagers in the second film a laughing stock.

It's as "alive" as any other Kaiju, which is not much at all. They are all biological drones. They are built and operated by the precursors from within the Anteverse. In that regard, they are no different than the Jaegers. Them being biological robots doesn't make them any more alive than the Jaegers are.

The jeagors also feel it because they are suppose to link with there robot so they can do the same as they can human so in the first pacific rim movie when they got a arm severed off on there robot they were in distress but in uprising they didn’t show a very good job of that because in one of the scenes the robot got ripped to shreds and the jeagors inside weren’t in distress which is why this movie sucks so bad

i think one of the (many) reasons uprising didn't feel the same was because they treated the camera as this weightless omnicient point of reference, whereas the original mostly treated the camera like it was also a physical object, moving with it's own slight sense of weight.

People keep bringing up more time=better tech=better speed. While true to an extent, there is a balance that must be struck, the jager Stryker eureka is a good example, agile and much faster than other jagers but it doesn’t lose its weight. It still feels like a several million ton killing machine. This movie is also very inconsistent with damage. One minute there barely denting or scratching each other the next Gypsie literally plows their fist through Obsidians chest. And the environment only seems to take damage when the fight calls for it to do so.

In the first film, the pilots' rigs gave them the force feedback to move in tandem with their jaeger's movements. They're sprinting with regard to their own movements much faster than the unit's legs move. It's like they've never piloted a giant mech before... "Remember our old move?" *does obscure, high risk maneuver that would 9/10 times get you killed*

There was also a lack of constant jump cutting between conpod and jaeger. Where it synced up the movements between Jaeger and pilot. Some of the cuts here make it almost like they are flailing around and the Jaeger is doing something. The pilots barely sync with each other. There was a precision they had to follow in the first movie.

Among some major writing, storyline and dialogue flaws, I think what turned most people off was how fluid the movements of these jaegers were, they were too human like. People in the comments are so disappointing.. The fact jaegers are light weight compared to the first really gave a boost to the speed, plus it's technology, what do you except? It improves hella quickly. First Jaegers were slower, especially in water, and kaijus were fast.. After ten years they clearly had to fix that. Plus if Gipsy Avenger didn't get this speed update, she would have been defeated (entirely) by the very first battle with Obsidian Fury.

Guillermo del Toro in the direction, Charlie Hunnam on the Gibsy Jager again and Ramin Djawadi to do the music like the first movie, is the best way to end a trilogy.

1:39 One little detail that I’m mildly annoyed about is that, in the first movie, to go underwater, the Jaegers had to seal all openings and ports to ensure that the Jaegers wouldn’t be flooded. However, in this movie, they said “F the tiny details that made the first movie so great, let’s just throw them under the water and hope that all of those very exposed sensitive electronics make it out alive!”

I hate how fast the jaegers move in this one. In the original, the jaeger’s movements were slow and deliberate, as a giant robots movements would be. This just looks like a couple of guys in Iron Man cosplay.

Can people stop complaining about the movie for a second and enjoy the fight? I'm the first to admit this an unnecessary and underwhelming sequel but it doesn't mean everything about it was bad. This fight scene is one of my favorites in any Kaiju movie, it's fast paced, well choreographed, had some badass moment, some fun camera mouvement, and obsidian fury is easily the best Jaeger in this movie. This movie is just dumb fun with great action, kinda like rampage, I don't care if the Jaeger aren't slow or the camera moves, the fight is still clear and tbh it's more entertaining ( in my personal opinion) . It's ironic that this movie is criticized for that while the monsterverse was criticized for the opposite before gvk wich is literally the Pacific rim uprising of that franchise.
