Nice video! Do you have any other tricks for an easy level up in quality?
@VargoProductions Жыл бұрын
For sure. If you're using FL Studio, go to your project settings and change the panning law from circular to triangular. It will help with the clarity of your mix. Feel free to check out my website at producedbyvargo.com. If you want to book a session, I have consulting slots that you can pick from (if you want me to analyze your set up).

Nice, never done this before. Can this work on other daw's?
@VargoProductions Жыл бұрын
Absolutely...as long as that DAW allows you to route to other channels. Thanks for watching! Let me know how it goes when you try this out. What DAW do you use?

This is a great video. Just wondering would that Mix Buss plugin selection you have work on say a melodic/dub techno track.

Thanks, man. Happy to hear that my videos are helping people. Sure, this group of plugins could work for any genre of music that is based around electronic sounds. For other genres, like country for example, I'm not so sure, as it may sound overprocessed, but for dub/techno, it should work. You may want to make sure that the settings you pick are conducive to the bouncier feel that dub/techno has compared to hip-hop. Slower attack times may be in order, to maximize the plugins' effectiveness. Hope that helps. How did you find my video, by the way? KZbin search, home screen, forum?

Bro this ish goes hard as hell! Crazy. Sounds like an OG Schoolboy Q weed smoking anthem. Is this sold?

You should definitely try mixing into your limiter and compression. Trust me, it will be a game changer for you.

I do this on occasion, especially when I'm just making beats. It definitely helps provide some perspective on a beat's potential!

I do the same thing, but sometimes it's hard to get a quality reference point for certain sounds and sometimes it can change the flavor of sounds to the point where sound selection can be problematic. If that makes sense. I'm fully on board with the strategy though lol

So we should add all of these plug ins to the mix. Afterward, the mastering engineer will add more plugins to the completed mix?
@VargoProductions Жыл бұрын
Basically, I showed you these plugins so that you would know how the mix bus works, and how certain plugins affect the song as a whole. You can use any plugins that you like. I recommend using a bus compressor (whatever brand you want to use, although I like the Waves SSL G), EQ, and some sort of tape saturation plugin. But other producers do things differently, so you will have to find your sound. The main thing is, leave enough headroom for the mastering engineer to work their magic (if that mastering engineer is you, you'll want at least 3-5 dB of headroom so you can put the final touches as you limit and fill out the track). Thanks for watching, man. Always glad to see new viewers!

thanks bro, I honestly couldn't tell what was happening... It sounded like saturation, but it also sounds like there is some compression and limiting going on when you crank it up. Whatever is happening, it's a fantastic plugin!
