What would the compressor on an Avalon 737 vst be? Also what about something like the distressor? Thanks for the info, I wrote it down.

It's a pity that it's not a real vocalist who sings, which has some range, but a flat, recitative voice is given... One day such things will not even be classified as music.

Hey man, I appreciate the video, but you don't show how to set up the sends/returns, or make the mixer track that's a copy of an already existing track. I'm lost and stupid! Lol.

Opto is faster. It uses light. If you are just using plugins, all you are using is a FET, due to the computer hardware. RAMs, CPUs, SDs, all made from FETransistors.

right, but it can replicate things, because sound is not that dense, they can keep the fast features of a FET

I thought you had been kidnapped or something bro. 😂😅 Glad to see that you're back on the grind again. I have been suffering from my inability to mix drums and 808's. Or more precisely, how to blend them without the overlap. I have tried your EQ method, and it works, but I'm looking for something more dramatic. Do you have any ideas for me? Thanks in advance!

Hey, so I just had a couple of questions, cuz i’m pretty new to mixing vocals, and there’s just much information that it’s pretty overwhelming. So, is there any instance where you would use a faster attack on the 1176? And when would someone use a higher ratio? Also, you mentioned other methods that have the 1176 applying more compression. When would these methods be used, and what kind of sound would they achieve? And would you then apply less compression with the LA2A when applying more with the 1176? I’m the type of person that likes to have a definitive solution to something, but It seems like music isn’t really like that, which can be a little frustrating. Maybe i’m just overthinking everything tho. I guess i’m really just trying to figure out different ways to tweak this method to make it fit in a wide variety of different songs. I keep watching different tutorials on the 1176 and LA2A method, and it seems like there’s no consensus on how everything should be set. Do most audio engineers just use one method, or do they experiment with different settings? Anyway, sorry for rambling, i’m just really trying to wrap my head around all this.

Why making videos for KZbin? To inform/teach people about something. Please be informed regarding the subjects you're talking about. Don't make a video, just to make a video. (example: "I believe" this is based on the SSL 4000, "I think" from the 70's maybe). This just confirms you don't know what you're talking about, you're just saying stuff that other people are saying about these products :( #WhyAreYouAyouTuber Sorry, but im not trying to hate, im trying to filter out what info is constructive what what info is insufficient.

does anyone hear the popping in the vocal? sounds like a bad vocal take or some clipping during recording
@BeezyHarris
@BeezyHarris 8 ай бұрын
Nah, that sounds more like an issue with KZbin and whatever magic formula they use to compress videos. Somebody on here said it sounds like an odd digital artifact. It's not clipping, and I think the take sounds fine. But I can't be for sure. I doubt it sounded like that on his end when he was mixing it 🤷‍♂️

Can I ask, how do you possibly hear the differemce between 1 milisecond and 1 microsecond (thats the slowest and fastest attack times) theyre both virtually instant.
@BeezyHarris
@BeezyHarris 8 ай бұрын
I think engineers just are able to hone in and hear the timing difference. Every engineer I've worked with seems to be able to tell without even looking at the comp if the attack/release is off. Idk bro maybe they are wizards or reptilians or something 😂

Hi Vargo, I see many of you engineers who use the fader on your vocals with effects on it. Why is that? your signal will still be as hot in terms of db or is the fader pre effects? cause in ableton riding the fader dont change the db on the signal out

😁 thanks for watching, man. I appreciate your time and the willingness to leave a comment and whatnot. These are certainly vocals, and I think most people would define them as such. They may not be your cup of tea, but these concepts remain valid regardless. I use a similar strategy when I'm mixing for Kat Dahlia or Jon Bellion, so the info doesn't change much when using this method.
