I love the blazer. You can style it in so many different ways. Glad you are saying goodbye to the black puffy sweater. It appeared that you had bulky muscles. The red top is amazing on you. Love it with the grey suit. Once you slicked back your hair, the white top looked so much better. Loved how you paired it with the 501's. Agree. I think it needs a slim fit bottom (pencil skirt, leather jeans) but I’m no sure about what footwear. It doesn’t look right at all with baggy jeans. That combo makes even a slim bod look like a sack of potatoes

Something I found after gravitating to puffy shoulders for years and then never wearing them or liking how I looked in them -- having the puff / gather at my wrist instead of the shoulder gave that same feminine, interesting shape that I really wanted, but I absolutely love it instead. Something to try if you haven't before!

One thing I’ve learned is I don’t like ruffled and puffy sleeves. Also bare shoulders gypsy tops. I always felt off. The puffy black cardigan I agree so much. The white one I love

I think when you prefer a wide leg Jean you have to be careful with shoulder pads, it’s a lot of width for an outfit profile. Love this content! So helpful for going through my doom pile!

First instinct is usually right but I have had second thoughts in some of my de clutters and it’s a good thing. I keep my Declutter basket until the next charity shop run when I get rid of it all. I’ve pulled stuff out and gotten a bit more use out of it. It confirms my first instinct was right as these also end up leaving but after a few months. I just need extra time to let go. That stops regrets in future. That second chance tells me why I really did not like it even though I thought I did. And that’s probably the most useful thing of all. As I wear things on their second chance, I begin to realize why I didn’t like it and that helps me avoid buying problems like that in future. I focus in on what I love and need, and what I only thought I love, but really dislike certain aspects. Whether it’s a boat neck, or itchy fabric, or it doesn’t breathe easily, all these get overlooked as I’m buying something. Declutter’s teach me so much more about my preferences, my likes and dislikes.

I recently decluttered a checked blazer for being too President Business, and have added a more 'dial it down' version to my shopping list, though I'm not quite sure what that would look like. Sometimes the maybe pile has something to teach us about what we really do want, though obviously that can go too far. Love the red top and Sid jeans!

I really liked the texture of the marant sweater with the barrel leg jeans. The texture and shape bring an interesting friction to your style. The sweater might be interesting to pair with a maxi trouser skirt or midi trouser skirt and tall boots in a tonal look. Or athletic shoes for a less polished and “wrong shoe” moment ❤

Love the blazer and the black sweater seemed like it was meant for someone who is trying to balance their top half with a wider lower body( which is not necessary for you). I defintely think the white shirt seems to fit your style more that the grey and can exist pretty seamlessly in your wardrobe. Seems that you need to rmember that you dont need anymore shoulder sculpting shirts as you have great shoulder definition from your gym routine. Also you like the option of skin in your necklines and upoer body and they dont offer that option for you.

IMHO, the blazer is a "classic" and will feel better once you break it in and give it some sauce. Wear it as a robe, put it on every time you make a smoothie, throw it on to take out the garbage. Just Wear It. I feel more like I own my clothes (they don't own me) when they are less crispy. Absolutely love the white top. I'm thinking you might like it better when your hair is down if you fuss with the hem... ,something less horizontal... perhaps the strong shoulder line and strong hip line feel too parallel?

Awesome outfits!! Please keep the black sweater and grey top! The puffy sleeve aesthetic is really hard to acclimate. I have a very tailored sensibility like you, but it's worth pushing through your discomfort, for a bit of modernity and femininity. The black sweater would look sooo pretty with your more tailored, dressy pants and a bit of jewelry to beak up the sweater. You don't seem like a pearls girl but a chunky chain would do the trick. You could definitely layer the gray under the red vest or cardigan, the shoulder pads would change the silhouette of both while it softening and covering up the snug parts a bit. The blazer is a keeper, that bit of gold with the black is perfection. Love the red on you, the perfect pop!

This video is timely! I have a few pairs of jeans which aren’t exactly tight, but not exactly comfortable either. I like how they look, but I never reach for them. They’re still in my possession because they’re excellent quality and hard to find. And what if I need a slimmer fit? The other thing about these jeans is they’re very basic.

I am now using the “If it’s not HELL YES! , it’s NO. The maybe items I have are Hell Yes, but are a bit tight. If I am not fitting in them comfortably b6 end of 2025, they go. Since I went through the weight roller coaster of menopause, my weight post menopause has settled in a place about 8 pounds higher than before menopause. I am currently am doing everything I can with healthy lifestyle to stay active, energized and happy as at 57. Part of aging is acceptance so the items go if in Dec those maybe items are going to consignment. I did invest in some new pieces that are 1-2 sizes bigger and I feel good about how I look in them. I welcome any advise from others who struggle with weight.

1)blazer is a yes for me, it’s a basic, but different and you can style it well, love 2) shoulder pad sweater- girl no, get rid of it, burn it, compared to the red or grey top it looks weirdly disproportionate, you have great shoulders for more fitted tops 3) red top, honestly it works, keep 4)grey top-toss, I love how it looks, but you look really uncomfortable 5) white top- again with the shoulder pads-no for me

Yes, I think you do need a checked or houndstooth blazer but not that one. I think the sharp contrast of the colors in the pattern is what makes it difficult for you to to style. Thrift in the men’s section for a pattern that uses less contrasting colors. I just bought an wool blazer with a field of a cool brown and the pattern is woven in black, tan, and navy with similar color values. From a distance it almost looks like a solid color but up close you can see that it is a classic Italian sport coat weave. I bought it for $7.99 so who cares how much it will cost to have a tailor shorten the sleeves and nip the waist?

After only seeing the clothes you’re assessing today (not the rest of the video yet), my vote is keep the check blazer and the grey ruched top, and replace the red top with a better colour for you (Lego green like your sports trousers? Cobalt blue? Raspberry? Dusky pink?).

I initially didn’t like the white top because of the supersized shoulder pads but (no pun intended) they grew on me. Now my problem with it is the neckline. I think something deeper, or even a soft wavy scallop, would look better. I’d see if it could be altered & if not (for a reasonable price), I’d declutter it in favour of a better one. The sheerness of the red top that you like is the thing I most dislike about it 😜. I still love the grey top but I know what you mean about slinky fabric & being cold, & I’m not about to tell you to just change your bra because you obviously don’t want to or you’d have mentioned it as an option in the video.

I think the exaggerated shoulder tops are a flash-in-the-pan trend and something that will make it really easy to pin a date on any photos taken of you. In 2035 you'll look at some snaps and go, 'oh how 2025 was that?' and then laugh and be glad it was short-lived. And is that something you want to spend your money on, or give space in your closet to? Also, when they HAVE to be styled in a certain way (hard to put layers over top) are they versatile closet investments, or something you need to move past?

Lol everyone's saying what I came here to say. You have gorgeous arms, adding structure in that area isn't where you need it. Experimentation is so much fun, but if you aren't wearing something there's a reason. Notice how they all have a common theme? Also the blazer isn't understated and it's busy and those are things you tend to avoid. Maybe you could find one in a less contrasting pattern in colours you love..like pattern training wheels. I like Tibi’s designs and how there’s always a twist to them elevating them from a typical basic silhouette. But I think their best designs are in the form of dresses, bottoms and outerwear. I would lose all the Tibi tops except the sheer red tank tbh. Do you wish the check blazer was more oversized and exaggerated? It definitely needs to be paired with more chill elements like the denim you had on or it can read too corporate.

I think you chose the right items to stay although the Anine Bing blazer has been on the “chopping block” a few times now. I imagine it gives you pause when it’s a more pricey item. The black sweater had too much poof happening. I liked the hair up with the white top, ir shows the cool back zipper that way. The grey wasn’t interesting enough on its own. I liked the way you styled the red, although, if you took the jacket off, I personally don’t like a red, white and blue outfit. Maybe it would work well as a summer look, not layered, with wide, flowey-ish white/cream colored pants. May as well show off the buff arms!

The white shirt, to me, just isn't interesting at all. Even the shoulder shaping doesn't do anything for me. With the pale blue jeans? That makes it worse, not better to me. I'll be interested to see how you choose to use it.

I really don't think you're going to like the top in outfit 5 and I will be very surprised if you don't end up decluttering it in your next closet update - whenever that happens. Something about that shoulder seems off, and I am a Puffy sleeves kind of person. It strikes me as having shape qualities in common with the gray top that you wisely let go of - it just seemed fussy to wear. Similarly, I don't think you're ever going to be 100% happy with the red T-shirt. Though I LOVED! the outfit you styled with it. Glad to see that you're keeping the houndstooth blazer. That blazer is fire and I loved it styled with the double denim. Maybe try it with the red T & blue track pants, too.

Blazer is great. All the shoulder pads seem to make your body go out of proportion which is why you don’t like it. I like the red top on you but maybe in person the color isn’t the right red like you said?

I thought the black sweater made you look lumpy. Let it go. The only one I feel is worth keeping is the blazer. The rest don’t seem right for you. Now that you are so buff and strong, the shoulder pads don’t sit right. I loved seeing your hair down is this video!

the white long sleeve top does not elevate the 501 look at all,,,it appears to be a top from a thermal underwear,set I say let it go and use one of your favorite tops instead.This is just my opinion nothing more. Thanks for asking for my ideas about your maybe pile.

I also did not love the white long sleeve top. I could picture that top with a peplum waist circa 2012, something about the structure of it. It's not as "now" as most of her 'fits IMO.
