What are some habits and boundaries that give you energy?

I’ve started sweeping our floors and washing all the dishes before bed. In the morning when I walk out of my bedroom I see fresh floors and when I get my coffee I see a fresh sink.

I'm walking 40 mins to an hour every morning and I started doing LesMills On Demand from home a few days a week a month ago. I'm reading Atomic Habits and making changes. I can feel that I'm getting stronger and it feels good. I'm determined to be in great shape when I turn forty in the fairly near future. Ugh! I've struggled with my weight, depression and everything else for so long. I lost 60 lbs since 2020 but just gained 15 back due to stress since the holidys and eating the wrong foods sometimes.

Going to Pilates 2-3 times per week and spending plenty of time with my pup.

Walking really give me the calm vibe after done it BUT to start it really need a tremendous amount of inner motivation. 😂

It might sound silly but preparing meals ahead of time (like your overnight jar oats there) not only makes sense practically, but has an added bonus of making me feel loved and taken care of. The fact that someone (ie me!) cared enough about my health& wellbeing to prepare something in advance makes me feel so energised!

My experience is a little extreme but I found that I needed to completely remove smartphones and socials out of my equation. I’ve never been happier! It’s not for everyone, but I feel like I finally broke out of my bad habits once I decided to completely separate myself from it.

The same for me. Until yesterday, I was 1 year 3 months without social media. Best decision ever. Still reluctant to come back as I don't really feel the need.

Agree. I’ve deleted FB/IG, it’s been a little over 6 weeks & I can’t see myself going back at this point. I do have a smart phone, but minimal basic apps, no games or frills.

I have also deleted in/fb and haven't missed it at all. I still have a smartphone and what been asking about taking peoples numbers again instead of add them on a plattform.

I have been trying to figure out how to use social media in a way that doesn’t suck my time and give me major anxiety and depression! I love the idea of a timer and only creating / setting boundaries when in use! I will be more intentional about my time and these are perfect ways / perspectives to do this! Thank you 😊

I like your observation on create vs consume. I feel like even commenting on videos is a small but healthy step out of the content consuming vortex. My struggle personally has to do with parenting 2 kids in a kind of perpetual state of survival mode- I struggle to find the energy to do the things like exercise and nutrition that are supposed to give you energy. It often feels like it takes more energy than I have to “make” energy! (But then there are the other benefits of like, oh- being a generally healthy person )

Fantastic video - really great habits for me to think about. I particularly like the connection to "energy giving" versus "energy depleting". One not-negotiable habit I have is that I pre-book Pilates classes 3 times a week and I NEVER miss one unless something absolutely dire happens. One area that I'm struggling with is falling into the deep black hole of social media - often right before bed. So I'm going to focus on changing this one energy-depleting activity by turning off social media by 8pm and focusing on activities that will support better sleep. Wish me luck :-)

I work 2 part time job, one in farming and one in childcare. Both are extremely physically intensive. Ninety nine percent of the time, I take a 1 hr nap every afternoon. It is absolutely a necessity and I am energized when it is over. I appreciate your thoughtful intention as a creator!

Not scrolling through social media in the morning really helps me. I realized that having a good energy and mood in the morning affects my entire day and being on social media has done so much negative impact in my mental health.

Starting and ending my day with scripture has helped my anxiety tremendously. Getting off of FB and Insta would be number 2 on impact. Having a consistent bedtime and morning routine has helped so much too.

I have never been on IG or Tictok, and also left Twitter and FB in 2020. Best thing I’ve done for my stress level. I enjoy YT, but limit my time every day.

I was prepping my lunch for tomorrow while watching your video. I bring breakfast, lunch, and snacks every day. I kinda hate the time it takes out of my evening, but I need grab and go in the mornings. My prep ensures that I eat fairly well at work, and it definitely saves money. I also prepare all my food for the week on the weekends. Food is what I consistently prioritize. My Insta is primarily trip pictures. I appreciate my small gang of followers. Insta was a way to connect with the outside world during 2020, but I wonder now if I am too attached and if it keeps me from seeking more IRL company. Hugs, Christina. Ukraine is still fighting the foreign invaders, even if it is no longer front page. 💙💛

Thank you Christina. I’m currently on a 2 week rural break and you have provided food for thought before I head back to the ‘hustle’. Compromising nutrition and exercise, hydration, limiting screen time and not taking weekends off are areas that I need to focus on too. I need to write down my 10 habits by Friday! Thanks for the inspiration.

My adult children make phone calls when walking. I like to take in my environment, especially on country walks, listen and observe. It's energising, mindful and feels great.
