Christine, that was absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing this session with us! I'm truly happy that the world has people like you and Sam to share their wisdom and not be afraid to show vulnerability. As a coach myself, I feel blessed every time a client shows me their raw self and gives me the opportunity to reframe their traumatic moments. Thanks again for the inspiration and I hope we see more videos like this in the future! xx

Im not sure if Christine will ever see this comment, but I have a question about this. I listened to this in podcast form & have now also watched the video. I think the sentiment about not shaming herself for taking a risk that she had wanted to take, is a good one. But it's not what Sam had said. Sam had said she DIDNT want to get more sexual with that boy on the bus, she felt pressured into it, and then it got worse because people found out. She didnt say, "I had wanted to do this, I took a risk, but then it got blown out of proportion when people saw us." So I guess Im just wondering how that message got switched. I feel the fact she gave into a peer pressure in the first place got ignored a bit. Again, it's good to not blame her 14 year old self, but for some reason this message isn't clicking with me as well as some of Christine's other ones do. Sam obviously felt much better with this new insight about taking risks in life - maybe someone else could shed light on this question, too. Maybe I missed something.

Hi Katelyn....what you said crossed my mind too while listening. Here is my take on it...Christine's intention was not to bypass that she said she was pressured, but instead to focus more on the fact that even though she was pressured she still took a risk in the hopes of fitting in or being accepted. It was important for Christine to point out to Sam that just by her taking that action she did indeed take a risk (which is a way of acknowledging that in that moment she was trusting her impulses which is what she ultimately wants to be able to do again) and then Christine followed up by showing her because of her results she now associates taking risks with fear to the point that it stops her from following her impulses. This set the foundation for showing Sam a different way of perceiving herself for being courageous enough to take that risk at such an early age so she can now begin to trust herself again. I hope that helps a bit. .

Bingo, got it, thank you so much for the reply! I was struggling with where exactly the peer pressure turned into risk taking - your insight helped!

It would be interesting to see an episode, but can you reframe the mindset especially for men that people need a coach or therapist because it seems prevalent in the American mind that we are independent and we can pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and grit our teeth and get through it and that having a therapist or coach is the sign of failure or weakness. It also seems pitiful or sad that you have to actually pay a person to listen in a from you and that there are not friends who are able to do that, maybe because of their own frommer or rooms or lack of self confidence because of shame in their past.

It's women and girls who always feel so much shame. I started to wonder about the boy in this episode who was an equal in terms of what happened with Sam.

sorry but how can this be; life coaching, when the coach is doing most the talking.
