I don’t know about the U.K. and I don’t live in either the U.K. or France but years ago when I was working in Paris, they had rotisserie chickens. They would move the rotisseries outside the shop so when you came up out of the metro after work in the evening, the aroma of chicken was the first thing that hit you. Smart move because they are oh so hard to resist.

I never forget ingredients because this is what I do. As soon as I finish with an ingredient, I put it behind me on the counter so that I know I’ve already used it and when I reached the end whatever’s left over is what I have haven’t used yet.

How foolish did I feel? I was making a carrot cake, 3 layers. I mxed the batter, thought it looked a little thin, but poured it into the 3 pans and put them in the oven. Oh no, I turned around and on the counter I saw my 3cups of grated carrots. As fast as I could, grabbed the 3 pans out of the oven and poured the batter back into the bowl, added the carrots and refilled the pans. Back into the oven till done, removed pans, cooled cake, frosted with cream cheese frosting and enjoyed a most delicious cake! Had a good laugh telling the story to my family. Dear Kevin, Happy Holidays to you and yours! Every recipe looks outstanding. I have tried the rotisserie chicken on a sandwich with mayo spread on one slice of bread, a pinch of salt, rotisserie chicken pieces on top. On the second slice spread peach jam or preserves. (I use Bonne Maman preserves). Place the peach jam slice atop the chicken. Serve. Heaven! Hope you like it. Jingle Bells! Edit: What is the name and brand of your tea set? My mom gave each of us girls a special tea cup for our tea. Mine looks just like that. Brings back so many memories! Thanks for the Christmas gift!

The Christmas tree looks so beautiful! Lovely selection of menu items for tea. I think that I will have to make the cranberry chicken sandwiches this week. I happen to have everything to make with on hand. The chocolate cake looks great, and not too complicated to make. Of course I love the eggnog scones. Perfect for a Christmas tea. Growing up, we were discouraged from cutting the crust off the bread. It was supposed to "make you pretty." Lol Chicken salad sandwiches with cranberry are delicious. I sometimes add celery and chopped nuts, but I've never seen anyone else do that. Delicious combinations. Lovely video. So nice to watch this season.

Bonjour Kevin from France! Yes we do have very good rotisserie chicken available here but alas no eggnog! Is it possible to have a simple recipe for it to make at home? I really enjoy seeing your lovely house and also I am making many of your recipes! I live in a stone house in Brittany, built in 1619.
