Hi Amanda. I have just finished the Martin Storey Pine Forest Cardigan and I hope I can pass on a few tips. Firstly, although it is written and charted as a pieced design (back, front left, front right, sleeves) I found it easy to adjust it to knit the body in one piece from front centre to front centre. Secondly, I agree completely that the charts are teeny! Once downloaded, I opened a blank document page, right clicked on each chart section, clicked 'Copy' then pasted to the document. Then I could enlarge to the size I wanted. To make the charts sharper I used the 'correction' tool then printed the document pages. Saves you having to scan it. Martin Storey is my favourite designer and he does tend to assume a level of competency and I agree that this design is not for a beginner. However, I think a patient person who has done a little colourwork beforehand could complete this cardigan. Keep a very strict record of the rows completed and practice purling in colourwork and it should be fine. I have completed the version for my husband which is in a tweedy beige and a deep green only. I have started my version which is the same tweedy beige as main colour and green, red, gold and charcoal for the motifs. It's definitely a challenge but I like a challenge!

Thank you, I've been looking for a nice Christmas sweater. I've just ordered the 'My Deer' sweater on Ravelry. Some of the project of this are also really beautiful options.

The Merry Mint also has a Mini Mint version for people who knit for littles ❤

I'm currently knitting the pullover version of the Festive Yoke Sweater and so far so good. My gauge is always off so we'll see. I'm close to splitting for sleeves so hopefully I'll know if I'm on track soon. I did think this would be my only Christmas sweater but then you just HAD to put the MerryMint sweater in my brain. HAHAHA. Definitely saving that one.

Yes, Pernille Larsen is the owner. Together with her daughter, she started a webshop selling knitting patterns for babies and toddlers. Later they decided to sell the Knitting for Olive yarns.

Thank you! I love the Pine Forest cardigan, and I love to do sweaters in pieces and seam. BUT,flat color work, no. I did that on The Throwback by Andrea Mowry, and it was difficult. Are you g Having a hard time with it? I’d almost like to try it, because I don’t want to steek either! 😮😢❤

I did Drops Alpaca too. Nougat 2020 for the main and dark green 7895 for my husband's version. For mine, I have the light nougat 2020 and dark green 7895 again plus Golden Rod 2923, Maroon 3650 and dark grey 506. Drops Alpaca is one of my go-to yarns and it's lovely to knit with as well as being excellent value.
