I love what you do, because it comes straight from your heart. That's the way decorating always should be -- not the latest "trends,"; not the latest "ooooo haaaaa!"; but decor, for whatever season, and for year round living, that speaks to our hearts and whispers "Yes, this is you, and others will love it." I love it, nothing more to say.

This was so nice to watch. Loved the normal pace at which you filmed, instead of speeding everything up. I enjoy seeing shorter clips of real time. It felt like we were there with you, chatting and hanging out while the decorations were put out. I so look forward to all of your videos. Thanks for the time and effort you put into everything. It really shows, and to me you stand out amongst others with your unique, warm, genuine love for home, family, and decorating. I especially love how you share family anecdotes. Merry Christmas, Christopher!

Grand idea hanging the stockings with shower curtain hangers onto the garland onto the bannister's railing.. Thank-you for sharing with us.. reviewed this part with my Granddaughter of 7 years who was questioning where everyone's stocking will go? I said I have an idea from your totorial.. so she watched and listened and said , do you have enough shower curtain hooks 🪝.. as we have 10 to hang.. Thanks again for your gentle teaching of your stocking decorating. GiGi & Lily

Beautiful home! Your decorations are gorgeous. We have a banister exactly like yours. I used to wrap the garland around the handrail, but after falling down every. single. stair one year....I will NEVER do that again! 🤕 I now put my garland up like you did. As for securing our stockings, we put medium/large cup hooks under the railing, in between the spindles. You can't see them, because they're hidden by the garland. Those hooks have held the heaviest stockings! When you remove them, they leave the tiniest hole, which isn't visible since it's under the banister. When Christmas is over, we put the cup hooks in a small baggie and tuck them into a stocking. That way, the hooks are stored with the stockings and we don't have to replace them every year. Love your videos! 🎄

When l was little , we would have great fun in wrapping my father’s Christmas presents in strangely shaped boxes. He loved to pick up a box , shake it , then try to guess what his gift was , he was usually correct , UNTIL, we got wise and used the bigger ( or smaller ) boxes . Fun Christmas memories… now to put up my village !

I discovered your videos this year and have enjoyed them so much. I have to say, you are so much like me in how I decorate, the treasures I love, your style, it is so comforting and it makes me smile. I decorate in a different theme each year in the formal parts of my house. It takes me at least a month to decorate. My wrap is always themed to match the formal tree. I wish I could have given you some of my gold and silver wrap, as I always have extra! One year I decorated in Scandinavian theme (I am Norwegian), one year Scottish (for my husband's roots) and this year I am using my daughter's collection of sweet treats. I have a large quantity of vintage ornaments, so they are always used in some way too. I also make beautiful wreaths from vintage ornaments. You inspire me with your creativity, calming spirit and lovely soul. Thank you! If I may make a suggestion for wrapping the large piece with the vintage hooks: make a round tube around it using poster board and then it will be easy to wrap! Good luck. I also love your pin on your collar.

I love this years bannister decoration! I love it every year but that acorn garland is just the perfect touch. I haven't put up my Christmas village in a few years either. I know it is in my storage room some where but who knows where. I may have to spend a day in there and find it. I have the original snow village from Dept 56 and I can still remember when I purchased it. There is a store in Old Town Folsom, California called Dorothea's and it is a year round Christmas store. The village was set up on a top shelf of a faux roof and when I asked how much it was the lady told me it was very expensive, $168. Well, back in the early 80's that did seem a bit much so I passed on it. But, I went back three more times and just looked at it and then finally decided I didn't care how much, I was getting it. I can remember when my parents came to our house for Christmas that year, my Mom fell in love with it and wanted one for herself. My Dad asked how much and when I told them, needless to say my Mom didn't get one!! She eventually bought a knock off one at Walmart. When I think back to all the times I have set it up and how really wonderful it looks, I think the price was probably too low! I have actually set it up under my tree one year when my tree could be seen from all sides. Thank you for the reminder, Christopher.

My favorite snow for my villages is that same snow and yes, it is a mess! One year i didn't set up my village and my husband, son, son-in-laws and grandkids all had a holy fit because there was no christmas village (it is a ton of work and takes me the better part of a day because i have so many and i literally have levels to my scene.) One of my favorite pre-Christmas traditions is watching your Christmas decorating videos. It's the little details you think of that are just the icing on the cake. Like adding that piece of gold garland on the hooks across from the stairway to match, and thinking outside the box using shower hooks for the Christmas stockings. Such creative genius. Hint for cleaning up the snow at the end of the season: a shop vac will be your best friend. I have a smaller one I use indoors, and it saves so much time.
