😘Whole-heartedly agree about Kat. She's a woman of substance with hidden passion & depths. 😉Clearly, it's not good to 👩⚖judge a 📚book by it's hard📙cover alone. Snarky, mischief maker, rabble-rouser, and class clown at first glance. Follow that up with her being no nonsense, feet firmly planted on the ground, focused on down-to-earth practicalities & all while attacking life with gusto. 🐢 Under that tough facade, Stephanie has it right about Kat's soft inside. She is quite tender. A humble hostess who prefers to serve others on the down low. Although she obviously loves to nurture ppl through 🍲food & beverage🍵 offerings. She also takes great 😄joy in the creativity of making meals🍚. 😮 Kinda shocking, that she is a secret 🕵️♀️sentimental 💞: •The gentle wonder of a theological scholar who is moved by 📖 Biblical text and phraseology. •A woman equally touched by the poetry of song🎵 who also offers a pure heavenly voice raised in worship🎶. You're so right! 🔍Each & every new discovery🔎 about Kat only makes her all the more ☄fascinating☄! ~~~~~~~~~~ 🎼ps 👨💼Chorale directors👩💼 and the 🌎 world at large may 💕 swoon 💕 considerably more over 💫Sopranos, but 🤔Kat needs to keep something in mind. 🙋♀️Altos bring richness of depth and harmony to life🌱 in music. ✌😊🤙

My father is a clergyman and all our family were in the choirs at all our Churches over the years. I was also in the junior school choir, the county youth choir then senior school choir, Church music group. Like you Kat we would start Carol concerts and Carol Services from beginning of December and it would include an evening of a performance of Handels Messiah. Then the last three nights before Christmas Eve we would Carol Sing around the village. Christmas Eve was always really busy with an afternoon service and then the midnight communion. Christmas Day started really early as we lived in a farming village in the 1970’s so my Dad did a 7 am communion then 8 am communion. Then he’d rush home for a full English breakfast..much needed. Then we had a family service at 9.30 am and final Communion service at 11.15 am. Our Christmas would properly start about 12 o’clock ish by which time as young children we were desperate to open our presents! You have beautiful voices, sadly my voice has really gone now and I struggle to sing x

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was GOD. HOW I LOVE THE WORD OF GOD. TRUTH. One of my favorite episodes Philip just love you, you are such a gentleman I am loving Dutch men we have quite a few in our church ,they are so hard working and keep the church in top running order. By the way my favorite Carol is O Holy Night and the one you picked is second. You all harmonize so gloriously. Kat where did you do your theology degree? Thank you Stephanie for your very informative history lessons I just love them.

I always sang. Was suppose to go to a state contest but my parents wouldn’t let me. In my teens I was in an oratorio society. Then pianist at church. Played for the choir, both organ and piano. (I was so short, I would slip off the organ seat!) Also played and sang alto for the specials. Music touches the soul. That’s our innermost connection to Heaven. Loved your singing!!! 🎼❤️ My son is a Pastor and has many degrees. You’d probably enjoy conversing with him! You always stay quiet about yourself. That is so very exciting! ❤️ wow! You know there’s two of the “Bleak Midwinter”! Amazing!

Tonight you brought lots of joy and tears to my eyes. My sun did his PHD in Kings college Cambridge, and four years ago my husband, my son, and I were among the audience who sat in that breathtaking chapel during the service. Last year I lost my dearest, dearest husband to cancer and I was left with beautiful and amazing memories. Your singing and talking about Cambridge brought back all those precious memories. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are all so lovely.

Thank you very much for your kind words. You are right, it is very difficult and sometimes unbearable, but i am extremely luckier than most. I had immensely happy years with him, and he left me with the most beautiful memories to last me for ever. And I have my lovely son in whom I see his father every time i look at him. He is my pride and joy. Again thank you and I wish you the most happy and safe Christmas.

So thrilled to hear this hymn - taught to us by our father who died when we were all very young - which means Christmas to me. I've listened to King's College Boys' Choir annually my entire life. Thank you!

Thank you for the beautiful carolling! I sang along heartily!! Hearing Kat talk about English choral traditions made me think about my childhood growing up in a quintessential English village and singing in the local church choir. Wonderful warm memories!

Darke all the way! Sir Stephen Cleobury took over at Kings after Sir David Wilcox and Sir Stephen retired two years ago and sadly passed away, Daniel Hide is now the master of music there. Daniel took over at St Thomas fifth avenue New York, from my dear brother, John Scott, who sadly passed away very unexpectedly at the age of 59 years after a huge recital tour. He was a world acclaimed organist, conductor and choirmaster. He was Director of Music at St Paul’s Cathedral and received a special honour, LVO, from the Queen. I miss him so much especially at this time of year. It was really lovely to hear you singing some of the favourites. Thank you so much for this blog. I shall be having the same tradition as Cat - wrapping presents to Kings as usual! Love to you all.

To think I thought Kat was a comedienne chef. Turns out she is wowing us with so much more - her lovely voice, knowledge and faith. Please come back to Lalande, Kat. I feel like crying at the thought you won’t return. Thank you for this delightful and moving video. ❤️🎄
