I'm 29 and everyone during any family gathering are couples and I'm always solo. It gets awkward and I have to constantly make excuses on why I'm single. It gets draining and I always itch to leave.

@@MR-nl8xr I'm addicted to my freedom. Sure I don't have kids and can't brag about responsibilities and family, but I learned not to care about what others think anymore. I realized that in life the most important thing is happiness with oneself and being content. There is so much BS and so many expectations that we take upon ourselves just because we think that it's the right thing to do, when in reality the only right thing to do is whatever makes you happy as long as it doesn't harm others. I did so much "right stuff" that society would deem "respectable" to make others happy, and to an extent I did make everyone around me happy, yet the only person that wasn't was me. I was miserable and felt lonely surrounded by a pack of happy people. This led me several times to contemplate suicide. This lesson taught me that I rather be disliked for who I am than liked for who I'm not.

Imagine if his brother has also turned out to be a paid actor. It would make a great christmas dramedy. I can see Stevie finding out the truth before chrismas and getting in a heated argument with his father who lost his wife and other baby boy in a tragic accident and couldn't really deal with it. He couldn't tell his son about it and just wanted to make it possible for Stevie to grow up believing he has a family. All kind of drama happens and in the end they realize that through all the years and christmas dinners they've actually grown to be a true family. The movie ends with a heartwarming note as the camera zooms out of their New York apartment's window, showing the snow falling outside, chrismas lights and them laughing and having dinner together as family that is not bound by blood, but love.
