My elementary school principal was the father of that kid who died in nutty putty, his whole family was there and they were yelling back and forth to eachother while he died and the rescuers tried to save him. Every year on the anniversary he’d take the week off and all the teachers would have us write him cards. I remember seeing it in the local newspaper, I can’t believe this story made it to you guys. Shits fucked, he’s a friend of my family and my parents still leave a bag of treats on his door every year.

In Mexico we have a group of rescuers called "los topos" that were created when a big earthquake destroyed a lot of Mexico city in 1985 because they wanted to save people from the rubble. Speaking of the fear of falling on the tracks, in Romania, where I am from, there's been a pretty massive case where at the metro station, a young girl got pushed on the tracks by another woman that was crazy, and then when she tried to get back up she was kicked and pushed by her back down and nobody had the time to react and help because the metro was just coming and she died on an instant. The woman didn't know her and she just thought she was someone else that she hated and because she was insane she did that and killed a stranger. Needless to say, that case traumatized me, and every time I go to the metro or train station I stay with my back against the wall in a pretty stiff manner.

In my honest opinion, to solve the "spoiler culture" on Twitter, Twitter should have added a spoiler tag feature just like on Reddit, so when someone posts something about a spoiler of a show or anything else with a picture on it, it will be blurred unless you click on the picture or the tweet itself and also make every hashtag from a tweet with a spoiler tag on it doesn't pop up or get into the algorithm of the trending page of Twitter. Therefore people can enjoy the show to the fullest.

And he's experiencing what my friends do too by ignoring that he's saying Garnt and Joey are right. Sometimes you have to give up and watch a show live to avoid spoilers. There is an easy and obvious solution when it comes to the spoilers and spoiling shit in Twitter honestly. Twitter and Facebook etc just needs to allow people to MARK spoilers in posts and tweets (and memes) so that before you can see the content of a tweet or post, you are explicitly warned that this shit will contain spoilers for so and so series. It's exactly how you have to intenrionally click on explicit media stuff before you can see anything about it. Forums have had this for years with spoiler tags, just allow it in posts and tweets and let the users label that it's a spoiler for this or that. That way most people can tweet explicitly about their reactions or feelings for an episode while at the same time knowing that only those who intentionally click on it will see it.

That's not gonna work for tings that get on 'Trending'. And for things this viral, just like Endgame and Game of Thrones in their time, you really can't avoid it all unless you go on a blackout. To be honest, tho, if something can be spoiled, then it's really not worth watching; my favorite scenes and twists I love to watch unfold plenty of times. So when people get all heated ranting about spoilers when they walk into that wall routinely expecting for the wall to move it seems kinda bratty to me. Also, do people even enjoy twitter? I don't even use it but it literally seems all people who do use it just hate it; spoilers, people arguing or getting backlash, all people do is go through shitty experiences on there, it seems.

@Octanis03 жыл бұрын
Yeah I don't see what's the issue with that. They already did their duty by labelling spoilers. Telling other people to shut up just because its going to spoil things for you is kind of ridiculous.
@HateIsJustice3 жыл бұрын
The problem is the platform itself, saying something is a spoiler while posting it doesn't avoid what's being done in such an open, public space. For instance; ( [Spoiler] Such and such dies ) Where it's not hidden and is out in the open the moment it's presented to you. Labeling it as a spoiler practically has the opposite affect even as it draws more attention to it usually. Twitter just needs to implement the same kind of feature other discussion platforms have for [spoilers], it already has it for Explicit content after all.
@kb-ww1uw3 жыл бұрын
and you can even blacklist tweets with the word spoiler in it so you don't see the tweets at all. @@kb-ww1uw I didn't know you could blacklist tweets like that, don't know how effective that'd actual be though. A lot of comments I've seen on the video seem to think the guys can just 'not go on twitter', as if that's an easy solution for their problem here. It'd be nice though just to see basic manners with this stuff apply to twitter as it does with everywhere else though (disregarding those who at least try to), or really just give users the ability to censor content they post like every other discussion platform. What kind of grace period on when people should just not care about spoiling something or not can be whole separate topic of debate on it's own, I'd personally agree with Connor's take on that though.

Dude I have the exact same story as Connor. My ADHD meds used to make me nauseous and dizzy if I didn't eat, and I sat in Health class having not eaten breakfast, and when I got up to ask if I could step outside for some air, I hit the floor. That was the first time that had ever happened to me.

ahh i’ve been behind on episodes, but I’m so happy to catch up and see that my fave boys are starting off by talking about my fave hobby!! Caving has been a huge part of my life for the past 4 years and it’s not as scary as it seems! Cave deaths are very rare, unless you’re stupid or are very unfortunate (like the guy from Nutty Putty). To answer their question about cave rescue, there actually is NCRC training in America (not sure about other countries). But it doesn’t even have to be your full time job! Though a lot of fire fighters will incorporate it as part of their training.

The difference between Avengers over Attack on Titan in my opinion is that you have to physically go to a movie theatre and pay for a ticket to go see it. Where lets be hoenst if you're this far into AoT at this point people would honestly expect you to be watching it as it comes out. I mean that's how most on going popular series are. It was this way with Game of Thornes and Mandalorian and Wandavision.

Not everyone can watch it the very moment it releases. I usually watch it a few hours after. People without CR premium have to wait a week (if you watch it illegally, shame on you). I think after that, it's open season. I don't think shows should be spoiler free forever, because people want to talk about stuff they're hyped about. Alternatively, a point I made to somebody else: People who don't want spoilers should just avoid locations where they can get them. Maybe I'm naïve, since I don't have social media outside of Facebook, and I only use Twitter to follow Monster Hunter. Perhaps it's harder to avoid conversations if you're more active. Regardless, a little online etiquette goes a long way. a "Spoiler" tag with several blank lines to avoid periphery reading is just a polite thing to do.
@biazacha3 жыл бұрын
@@Hydraclone you can also be a few hours outside Twitter and whatnot til you watch it right? Joey and Garnt expecting people to shut up til what, the season ends so they can binge? Is not unrealistic but lowkey entitled... a spoiler tag and avoid straight up "character x dying" images imo is enough.
@HolyBiscuit693 жыл бұрын
@@biazacha it is entitled AND exceedingly unrealistic. It's been 13 weeks since the first episode of AoT season 4 came and they honestly expect people to be hush hush about it so they can bunge the whole show? There's not even a guarantee that they'll binge it as sson as thr last episode airs. They might just wait a few more days or weeks before finally starting. If they are so concerned about being spoiled on social media, then they should just abstain from it until they've caught up. I also think it's stupid that Joey and Garnt expect people to only discuss shows withing dedicated fan groups and friend groups. Some people don't want to join fan groups. Some people don't want to have to navigate through MALs shitty site or doenload Discord and that's fine. If Joey and Garnt expect people to talk about AoT on Twitter, then they should also stay away frim twitter.

I'm not sure if I understood Garnt's take about AOT spoilers, I think that posting manga spoilers is a dick move but it's completely unreasonable to say that people shouldn't talk about the newest episode of AOT or any TV series. This season of AOT is the most anticipated show in years and it's genuinely amazing, of course people are gonna want to talk about the episodes online, especially if they have no one in real life to talk about it with.

"bUt JoEy DoEsN't LiKe It So ThErEfOrE iT's BaD!!!!1!1!" Joey and Garnt sounded like entitled babies for not adapting to the way that literally 90% of people are watching the show. They are the ones who purposefully decided not to watch it. It's on them.

garnt needs to understand the world does not revolve around him. discussing it in a non spoiler way is nothing better than not discussing it at all with how bland it is. people are using social media and hes going directly into it, and blaming the internet for being the internet
@isaachester84753 жыл бұрын
Maybe the middle ground is this: If you don't want to get spoiled, limit your social media intake or watching habits. But, for people who want to talk publicly, have a "show/hide spoiler" feature, and make it etiquette to use that as much as possible.
