Hi Yulia. Just subscribed. Really enjoy your content. I find it completely honest and resourceful and it shows to me you research and take great pride about the content you post. Keep it up! 😊 Just wanted to add that, and I don't know if it is just in my family, we actually have turkey(perú) at Christmas Eve dinner (Ceia do Natal) and then also Christmas day. Yup. But I am from the Azores therefore things might be different than in Continente. Boas Festas e Feliz Natal! 😊

Happy Christmas 🎄 Yulia ❣️ now I'm starting to consider move to Portugal rather than Canada (🇨🇦 is too expensive 😭)

Happy Christmas to you too! Portugal is definitely more affordable than Canada. However, rent prices in major cities like Lisbon or Porto can be similar to Canada 🫠

Hi Yulia, I recently subscribed to your channel and love the content! I’m considering spending the last days of December and New Year’s Eve in Lisbon/Portugal. Based on your experience from last year, should I be able to enjoy all the events and activities you mentioned, like the markets, or are they typically only available until Christmas? I know some countries don’t keep them open until New Year. Thanks so much in advance!
@ThisisYulia17 күн бұрын
Hey there! last year all the festivities ended on January 1st, so if you're planing to spend the last week of December here, you will still have a chance to visit all the markets 🙌🏻

Your portuguese pronunciation seems good (honestly), you even make a very good LH in 'filhós', but you have to open the 'o', because of the 'acento' - as we say. Open 'o' is an 'o' like in "job". Filhos - 《feelyoosh*》= sons Filhós - 《feelyOsh*》= [that desert] * LH sound is not actually 'ly', but is the best I can do here. There is some doubts about the singular and plural forms of this word, actually. People often say "uma filhó" (singular), "duas filhozes" or "as filhozes", etc. (plural; and no need for that mark over the 'o', but still open 'o', it's a long story; and now with 'z', another story). So, if you want to ask for it, maybe you should say "filhozes". I am not sure where you can find them though, as they are tipically just made at home ( it used to be...). Anyway, it should be "filhó" / "filhós", singular and plural, and happy 🎅.

muito obrigada! I'll practice pronouncing Filhós more haha

If you take the accent out of the word, it means children (filhos) . Ex. - I have two children = Eu tenho dois filhos. Thank you for the great content.
