I could tell the rejection of Dawn’s hat really hurt you-I think because your relationship is so public and open to criticism from strangers, it was not just Dawn’s dislike of the hat, but the potential comments and rejection of people that make it a double blow. Don’t be hard on yourself and don’t read into the comments that people make. Giving is part of who you are! Reading some of the comments, I'm sorry to see peoples' comments that Dawn is competitive, or should be kinder, or should just lie and take the hat. I think these sisters are close enough to be honest with each other and not get feelings hurt. (I feel like I was scarred by people who said that to me when my sister and I were growing up.. they honestly had no idea how close we really were. well, not to say Dawn will be scarred.. just would rather not have people say things like that.) .. To start, I laughed out loud as soon as the video started when I saw Diana wearing the top given to Dawn. Secondly, it's nice to see your relationship with each other. I have twin daughters that are very similar in their relationship. They each have their differences, as you two do, and it's actually a joy to watch as you both are. Lastly, sorry Diana, but as soon as you held up the hat, I thought, oh no, Dawn's not going to like that. You both handled it perfectly...Dawn with her honesty and Diana with her shock and ignoring any comments. You two are priceless and seem to be very genuine on camera. Diana, my kids ate EVERYTHING when they were babies. When they turned 2 or 3, they decided they were picky eaters. 🤦🙄 You have not ruined them. Just keep having them taste foods they don't prefer, keep them fed with things they enjoy, and wait it out. They'll eventually come around. Might take a few years, but they'll get better about it. I have 3 kids and this is advice I've heard as well, and is proving true with mine.

As an introvert who doesn't like being the center of attention, here's my perspective. We don't usually tell people who like being the center of attention to wear more boring clothes or be more reticent, so why would we encourage people who don't like to wear flashy clothing to so something that's out of character for them? 🙂 I think Diana and Dawn are a great combo, largely because of their differences and their appreciation for each other regardless of those differences., 💗

I’m watching this after the streaming and chuckling about the gifts Diana gets for Dawn. I have an older sister who does the same thing with me. She thinks she knows exactly what I would want and most of the time I have to hide my similar reaction to Dawn’s. I love her but she really doesn’t know me as well as she thinks she does when it comes to gifts. I am more like Dawn in that gifts are not my love language and they are my sister’s love language. My love language is more like the words of affirmation. What I do love is when she gets me a card, although a card is not necessary as a letter would do, and lets me know why she loves me.

Dawn, please be sensitive to Diana with her gift giving. (Especially in front of thousands of people.) I was always taught that when you receive a gift, you receive it with joy and say thank you. (What you do with the gift afterwards is up to you.) I could tell that Diana wanted an experience that united you together as sisters. Wear it-get a few pictures-laugh-make a memory together, (and off camera, and after the moment is shared, you can donate it). Instead, Diana felt sad and insecure after giving you a gift that made her think of you and that she spent money on. I know my heart would feel heavy if I felt like people were making fun of my gifts that I gave to someone I really loved-it would make me not want to give gifts in the future. I would hate for Diana, who is a gift giver as her love language to stop being who she is! Wouldn’t that break your heart? So relish in the gifts she gives, pretend to like them in front of the camera, it is a way to honor her and your relationship together.

I do agree Dawn could have handled the gift better but because they are so accustomed to being together and at ease in front of the camera that she reacted as if they were alone and forgot the camera was rolling. I think they are close enough they can be honest. Being a gift giver is a different art than being a gift receiver. They are identical twins with different personalities. Diana loves to receive gifts...she tends to think what she loves, Dawn will love. There's definitely no malice on either side. Knowing Dawn, I probably would have given her a gift card or certificate to somewhere she enjoys shopping or going. It can be hard to buy for some and try to step into their thought process. I got my sister a really nice, funny picture of Billy Crystal as a cowboy from the movie City Slickers. She has a funny/odd crush on Billy Crystal as a teen. I thought I hit the gift jackpot... anyway, when I asked her about it...I could tell she wasn't going to put it up and was probably giving it away. I paid $50 for it. I was upset and told her how I felt. I learned just to not get her physical gifts anymore... We are fine now.
