It breaks my heart to watch this. In his younger days as an actor he was strong tall and gorgeous but also a bit conceited. I had a huge crush on him. When he fell off that horse my heart broke, he could never walk, hold his children, make love to his wife, never have another child etc....my heart broke for him, that dam horse, why did he go there that day to ride, all the why's. I was a bit relieved when he passed on, he is strong and walking and healthy in heaven. He carried his cross to bear with dignity, respect and raw honesty. But I still c myself as the 11 year old girl who fell in love with Clark Kent, not Superman. But awkward Clark kent

He just got to roll those dice more times than the average person with a job, mortgage, bills they can only just pay, car problems, commuting etc.

He had an infection and the antibiotics made him go into cardiac arrest. It happens alot in patients like Christopher who have had to endure SO much. Statistically he lived longer than most in his condition. It may have been a blessing in disguise though. I didn't want him to die, but his wife died of lung cancer 17 months later. I don't think he could of went on without her.

People with his type of injury have numerous complications, as mentioned in this video. It's not just the paralysis. There are a hundred other things caused by quadriplegia and having to be on a breathing tube. He was in the hospital all the time with blood clots, skin lesions, and infections. He hadn't control over his bodily functions. The human body was not meant to not be able to move, so he sadly did suffer a lot in that condition. In the end, he just succumbed to one of the many complications.

Good holy Christ; BaBa WaWa, for the love of GOD. What a shame that this poor man had to endure Barbara Walters, for God knows how many hours, to produce this story. That being said, I had no particular connection to Reeve. I never watched ONE SM movie or any type of movie based on silliness like that, even to this day. It really bothered me though, for reasons other than the obvious, that this happened to him. I never knew anyone else first hand that suffered such horror, but did know one or two who were affected "second hand". It was heart wrenching to me, and it was compounded with the death of him, and also his wife. Life is so fragile but we live like it's not.
