My wife once sent a care package with 2 lbs of her homemade fudge. The rest of the pack was for me but the fudge was to share with my battery. I distributed it within all platoons but there was still about a pound of fudge left. I left it in the tac site fridge so people on duty can enjoy them at night. And the next morning I see this one dude getting the crap smoked out of him. Turns out he ate the whole pound of fudge.. I was looking with disbelief and said, "Are you sure?" Then he threw up the whole pound of fudge.... wow..

Is it expensive to send care packages to a group of military men and women? Or does it depend on where they are located? Can I send a care package to a group? Thank you.
@christopherchaos3 жыл бұрын
So as long as its actually to a real solder then it's either a US address or like an APO or other types of addresses for a military address overseas that is still treated like a US address. So you can still use flat rate shipping. If they try and give you a local address in that country then it might be a scam.

It really helps if they ask a fellow vet that has served in that AO. On what will be needed. The FLMA not so much. But jerky is always a safe bet. Along with CHEW and snuff. Anything homemade always helps out. Cookies ,fuge, Jerky. And other snacks. Way back 2003 My Oldman set me 15lbs of elk and pronghorn jerky. And always Chew and snuff. As a Vietnam vet he knew what i needed.

We were sent so many boxes of girl scout cookies we could literally build a house with them. They were stored in an non-air-conditioned warehouse where the temperature easily reached over 110 degrees. The tagalongs turned into shortbread cookies swimming in chocolate and peanut butter soup...

I separate my care packages. I send food in one and toiletries in another. You can mix and match socks and food, clothes and toiletries but you never want to mix food and toiletries in the same package. Unless you mean to send Irish spring infused chocolate chip cookies! Wink wink.

Here’s a tip: never send anything embarrassing or very personal to a solider. At my old unit, if you lived in the barracks, the NCO that ran the mailroom used to make us open all our packages in front of everyone.

Sounds like invasion of privacy if located in the United States or an oconus base ie germany, Korea. If this was on deployment then it was for health and welfare reasons.

Christopher chaos you forgot one of the most crucial that no soldier ever turns down no matter where they are in the world are what type of deployment they're on sure the socks and underwear are great and helpful and things like like hot cocoa and beef jerky snacks and whatnot are amazing too but the one thing no soldier will ever turn down and I know this because my father was a soldier deployed to Kuwait he's also civilian contractor who went to different hot zones in the Middle East but the best thing you can send our boys and girls in uniform it's in the category of hygiene but it bears mention and that is toilet paper no soldier will ever turn down good soft yet strong toilet paper my mom used to buy entire 82 packs of lake Angel soft and half of it would go to my dad toilet paper is a premium in many parts of the world and is impossible to get so toilet paper that'll make a soldiers day
