What a great song! I remember driving fast to that song in my old red 68 Triumph GT6. (fun car but had to be repaired more than driven lol!)
@purpleYamask10 ай бұрын
My grandpa had a red '68 Mustang he never took out from under the tarp. I was 20 before I ever saw it, in late 2019. He knew he was almost done here on Earth, and he took Grandma, Mom and Me out to an old straightaway in rural Missouri, told us he was gonna let her stretch her legs one last time. He put the top down and loaded this on the 8-track he'd grafted to the car. We hit 116mph and I'd never seen him smile more. Within a month he was gone. I never knew if I'd find the song. Miss you, Grandpa Gene. And to Christopher and Michael, thank you for scoring my best memory.

Sometime in the early '80's, Huffy bicycles used Ride Like the Wind in a commercial that I only saw once in primetime. In those much more fit days I was an enthusiastic bicyclist and before portable audio this song would play in my head every ride up the San Diego coast. Today, at 72 years old, though my pace has become anything but like the wind, I still enjoy the ride and this song is still the soundtrack. Thank you, sir.

I have a relative who was somewhat of an outlaw, and his 2 sons followed in his footsteps, but God is wonderful and can salvage anyone and can make new realities. Reflecting on life. 1:04

And the flamingo goes 'round and 'round. Volume wide open and ready to go. We got this in the mail Christmas week 1979 and added it almost immediately. There are certain songs that you only have to hear once, and you know. This was one of them.

Man!Weren’t we spoilt,all these magnificent songs that came pouring out of our radio’s everyday and we thought it was always going to be that way ! But for me it ended,with a few exceptions somewhere in the mid 90’s….by 2000 the popular song was gone…..the golden days,from the 60’s,70,80’s and a few gasps in the 90’s.l feel for todays kids,what will they be reminiscing to ? Hip hop and rapping hardly brings a tear to the eyes……

We played Ride Like the Wind in Band in high school back in the early 90s and it was awesome!! I just watched your interview with Rick Beato. Great interview and thank you so much for the music over the years. You were one of my moms favorites.
