Art goals for 2022 1. No buy 2. Use the supplies you already own instead of collecting them. 3. Draw/sketch everyday. 4. Challenge yourself. 5. Paint. 6. Throw your insecurities out the window or put them to sleep.

Your drawings remind me of the anime called "Blue Period", It revolves around a boy when saw the city in which he lives in during morning and it felt all blue to him and he tried to immitate the same effect on his canvas thus he got in drawing stuff

I really like the way most of your art is drawn with sharp angles and straight lines but when it comes to people you draw them so soft and round. It adds such a nice contrast to your pieces!

I love Sketchbooks with a color scheme! In 2017 I filled a sketchbook with purple and I lived it so much that I am currently redrawing every page digitally XD I wanted to redraw an entire sketchbook this year to get more familiar with digital art but also to see how I improved and to this day the purple sketchbook is still the most satisfying to flip through :D so it was the perfect choice for my yearly challenge XD

I spent last year doing what I do best - painting waterscapes and plants with watercolors. But I also studied anatomy and portraiture a lot to get better at drawing people. I improved very much and this year one of my art goals is to put what I've learned to use and draw people in actual situations. I'm starting by copying reference photograph and observing backgrounds and perspectives. I'm very curious how it'l go. Otherwise I want to continue refining my watercolor skills, I would like to have a repertoire of techniques since it's my favourite medium and so versatile. At the moment I kind of flow with it, but I actually want to work towards controlling it a little more and even try to paint neatly with them instead of the typical bleeding style of watercolors. I also want to dip my toes into digital stuff. I'm very hesitant though. I tried it now and them, but really didn't like it. So, instead of starting a drawing from scratch digitally, I'm going to make a lined piece traditionally and practice tracing it digitally, then color it very simply without thinking to much about it. I think that's a good way for me to start. By the way, I'm the girl who bought the Brause pen nips after your nip video and they are such a game changer !!! I think drawing and sketching with those will become very regular for me from now on.

Having a sketchbook theme makes things so cohesive and great to look at. Even the "not so great" sketches. I haven't tried all one colour yet so ill have to add that to the list! Less of a sketchbook goal (although practicing more refined sketches would be nice) is to actually communicate with fellow artists more, so- Love your work! Both in and out of the sketchbook, and cant wait to see more from this secret project! ⭐

Right now, I'm using Endless Stationery's Recorder in blank A5 Regalia Paper. Regalia is my new favorite after Tomoe River changed owners. And using it for fountain pen sketching, it's very smooth and shows off ink qualities really well, and still able to hold washes of watercolor and marker, so it's turning out to be a mixed media sketchbook. Just thought I'd say this since I know you like drawing with fountain pens too.

The amount of detail you include in your ink drawings is seriously so insane! That blue pilot ink is fountain pen ink which is probably why it’s so thin and bleeds so much. Fountain pen ink is really temperamental about paper. I’ve had a lot of success using fountain pen ink on paper that’s stiffer (idk how to describe it, it’s just like less soft??) and has some amount of sizing like mixed media or cheap watercolour paper, and also on straight up fountain paper but both of those can sometimes be pretty expensive.

I always enjoy your sketchbook tours, and this one was particularly lovely. Your linework is sublime, I adore the mix of natural and mechanical subjects, and your attention to and patience for meticulous details will always impress me immensely. I also think your choice to stick to blue for an entire sketchbook added an extra coolness and charm. Plus it's always fun to hear your thoughts on what worked and didn't work for you. By the way, have you ever watched a video by Peter Draws? You two come across as very different artists and people, but you somehow also remind me of each other.

looking at your spaceships drawings makes me want to draw spaceships so bad, theyre so cool! but about your ink issue-- you might be able to find the same shade or something very similar with a different brand that has a drier ink. i use J. herbins 'gris nuage' with my fountain pen for sketching and because its a drier ink the lines are thinner and dont bleed. Some guy at a stationary store was telling me that the 'wetness' or 'dryness' of an ink really depends on the brand so maybe you might have better luck with J herbins or something? hope it helps :)

People, look what this man does. This is called ANTHROPOLOGY. When something is drawn, please ANNOTATE. Make reference and understand the things you do not know when you draw some subjects in your sketchbook. Annotate helps a lot organize your thought process. He does that his way. When the SUBJECT is ARCHITECTURE then there are some classical behaviors for such approaches that are already well known. Every artist should at least familiarize with this. Look his approach. The other important aspect is ORDER. The sense of order is essential for the creative process. Exercises and scrap paper is way important too. Brainstorming always helps. Sorry for being a bit technical but this could help a bit UNDERSTAND what you are doing.
