Listening to this as an introvert, hoping for the most part to be moving forward from years of resentment to acceptance, with the help of my therapist-friends and interestingly identifying with the dreamer as my therapist encouraged me to "get over" trying to get "those people" to love me, since there's nothing really wrong with me as I am. When I digested that, I realized how legitimate it is for me to be pursuing this path of growth! Life is a dream!

Very interesting podcast on a very “hot” topic. Love the interplay between the 3 hosts/hostesses. The dream was especially interesting as was the dreamer’s observation on the importance of closet space (interiority?). Thank you, all.

The "And it's fun" from Joseph in the intro always makes me smile because of the way he says it which doesn't make it sound fun at all! Thank you so much for your podcasts: they actually are fun!

I can't believe how important and relevant this episode is for me and it popped up in my suggestions at this point in my therapy where I hit this wall built of resentment and hatred that I wasn't even aware of. I would really love to hear your opinion on whether it's possible to work through these feelings of deeply rooted resentment towards men with a male therapist. I feel drawn to male therapists (it's my third attempt now) but it seems that I'm trying to recreate a really toxic dynamic, maybe it could fall under the hostile dependency. I don't know what to do. I was in therapy with a female therapist and it was great but it didn't help me deal with my resentment.

A male therapist trained in psychodynamic therapy could be helpful. I suggest psychodynamic rather than Jungian because the focus will be on analyzing the relational dynamics in the transference to the therapist more than exploring archetypal forces.

I was taught that God preferred Abel's offering because it was given from the best of his effort and conveyed the highest gratitude where as Cain's offering was a lazy offer from second fruit just gathered from the ground and not as you stated that "that's just the way it is” What do you think about that?

The text doesn't seem to say that. Maybe God's just not a fan of broccoli?

There is a part of me who thinks that I should be more focused on my internal locus than the external, more instinctual and less thinking, more "selfish" in the positive take of the word; but then, as a child stomping my feet and wanting what I think is right for me... feels very selfish, too. As of now, I don't know what to do besides journalling extensively (and therapy) and see what comes out. Any suggestions on what to do after the journaling and therapy? Any practical hint?

In another episode they mention, going back into your notes and really analyze as to why you wrote certain things down and question as to what it pertains to within yourself, like what is the unconscious leading you towards and what are certain patterns that reappear? Hope this helps

Just ata the start but wanted to suggest that there is something very narcissistic about anger, especially if it's a lot of the time. It makes the people around the angry guy feeling like placating. The angry guy have a false sense of entitlement. Some adolescent fantasy of power over others, but it burns, because it's not an earned position of power, it's mismanagement of resources. Interesting subject matter!

I think it is sad to see society so fractured, it also saddens me when one group is singled out as an example to promote a political agenda when Jungian thought should be more oriented on individuation and understanding the totality of psyche in all of us. I don’t like the herd mentality of the right or the left, this is what is destroying our society , militant politics in the name of Jungian thought is exactly what CG Jung was trying to heal. Your political bias shines through your intellectual jargon.

It is sad indeed that the herd mentality is so easy to manipulate and that lately resentment and hatred is deliberately incentivated by the media with the obvious agenda of demonising adversaries. And unfortunately resentment is fueled by growing poverty, discrimination and chronic impotence What I don't understand is your last comment which seems to blame the podcasters for having a militant political bias ? Im surprised that you see intellectual jargon , I on the contrary , find great solace and insights from these dialogues

@@marialuzras8743 Well then there you have it….. My last comment stands
@thetreeoflife60182 жыл бұрын
@@marialuzras8743 , For context , I watch my lefty friends plug into lefty news and I watch my right wing friends plug into their echo chambers both sides see only their own propaganda and clearly see the other sides shadow. This is our country losing its way…. I long ago registered as an independent and try hard to see the good on both sides, clearly see the shadow on both sides and try hard to see any distortions in my own psyche. Example: Trumps personality - grade fail and stirs up resentments, Biden has plenty of less than stellar performances. Tolerance, healthy boundaries and accountability would be really good for both sides to adhere to for the sake of our country and society. I have really enjoyed “This Jungian Life”. Until the politics creeped in, if you go back through the episodes you will see it clearly, I still listen but they don’t have as much credibility in my estimation. By the way I won’t play groupie for any public figure, political party or herd stupidity wether right or left.
