I'm not shocked that the Spyder just edged out the other bows just a bit, but glad to see there wasn't much of a difference between the bows! Also glad you used a heavier arrow. Most archers test with much lighter arrows ... very cool video my friend! God bless ya!

Great comparison brother. Enjoyed the video. I have to say I'm taken with that Blackfoot bow, and that view is always stunning. Have a great evening. Best regards

Thanks Scott! We're getting a little snow up on thehills now, none sticking down here at the house though. Hope all is going the best for you, take care brother!

Scott, the Blackfoot is a nice bow. My 40# Blackfoot is actually a little faster than the 45# Galaxy Black Ridge. In the recent velocity testing the Black Ridge averaged 164 FPS. Used the same arrow in this test and the 40# Blackfoot averaged 169 FPS.

Subscribed for a fellow lefty trad guy! Thanks for the video! It was exactly what I was looking for. I shoot a 40lb recurve with a 550 grain arrow. Wanted to get an idea of what speed/KE it was generating. Thanks again!

Do you know if the Spyder is cut past center?
@shanepitzer4126 Жыл бұрын
It seems that it is cut just slightly past center. Not far enough past center to be a true center-shot though.
@TheMBBenton Жыл бұрын
@@shanepitzer4126 FYI, I contacted SWA and they told me they're cut 1/8" past center.

@@shanepitzer4126just curious if you’ve ever scaled that spyder xl at your 32” draw? I have a 33” draw and I’ve been seriously kicking over the idea of ordering one
@shanepitzer41269 ай бұрын
@@chadsyryca5275 Chad, no I haven't scaled it. I really need to pick up a cheap draw scale. But I can tell you it is a smooth draw to 32", with no serious stacking. I'm real happy with mine.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the vid! A 40# bow seems like a very good place for me. I can manage the draw back to 32", and it delivers very good performance.

@@shanepitzer4126 it would be nice and smooth to shoot a 66 inch longbow or 68 for you
@shanepitzer41263 ай бұрын
@@HyperManArchery Yeah, I don't have anything 68", but I do have a 66" and a 70". It's funny though, the 66" is the Bearpaw Blackfoot in this vid. Although it is 66", the working limbs are not all that long, so It's fairly fast, but I tend to feel it starting to stack as I'm reaching full draw. The 70" is a 45# Galaxy Black Ridge, from Lancaster Archery. It's a budget longbow, but very enjoyable to shoot.
