And the Melchior mystery deepens! Also, the middle ages continues it's bad luck streak with heroes. Between the Knight Champion who went missing, the kids who saved the queen and then skipped town, the little boy playing make-believe, the broken legendary sword, and the angsty trauma frog... 600ad is looking grim. Let's knock the clock back a bit and see if we can find something that will help, yeah?

Miles, the reason why you did so little damage on those enemies in Danadoro mountain (beginning of the video) was because you needed to attack them with fire first. That's why you saw them "throwing" them away, cuz the wooden mallets were burning.

I remember having a hard time with Masa and Mune's combined form as well, when I was a wee lad. Another user here already mentioned the key to winning it without spending too much healing items, but I'd also like to chime in and say that if you ever have a hard time in future boss fights, try different party combos! Always worth experimenting.

Things to keep in mind - Yes, your inactive party members also level up. I forgot what the math formula was, but I think they take 80ish percent of the exp from battles. Very forward thinking and quality of life enhancing for an older game! But of course, you still need to have them (and fight battles with them by your side) so they can learn dual techs. Moreover, you can swap out party members whenever you want with the Y button in the SNES original, and I assume it is the same here, but maybe from the menu. Either way, the only exception is when there's a specific story arc going on, and the character is greyed out. Obviously, Crono is always greyed out in the character swap menu cuz he's your big boi MC, but if you recall - Robo was also greyed out during the 2300ad segment, since he's required for dialogue/story and so only Lucca or Marle were the two swappable options.

Welp, I think we got a LOT to unpack here: First off, I highly recommend not using the Rage Band, as relying on counterattacks in this game isn't too well-effective. I'd say gear that ups your attack, speed, and magic is the most effective for DPS. For that reason, also, remember to buy lots of Mid-Potions, Panaceas, and Shelters. Denadoro Mountains is also another decent dungeon that rewards the player for exploring. At the timestamp of 14:44, if you were to interact and fall off this waterfall, you would land on some cliffs that would take you to various treasure chests that would contain accessories like a Silver Earring (effect: raises wearer's max HP by 25%) and a Silver Stud (effect: cuts wearer's MP move cost by 50%). At timestamp 16:00, this Kilwala will give you a Magic Capsule if you speak to him 4 times. Also, as a reminder, you can pause in-game battles by pressing whatever you may have binded the Start button to. For example, I've set mine to the spacebar. To check the World Map, simply press the L or R button (as in what you have keys or controller binded to). Important Note: You don't have to walk all the way to the End of Time to put a party member as active in the party. Just simply open the menu and select the "Party" option to see who you want to put into the active party. For the Masa and Mune fight, in the first phase, they both have 1000 HP, but you only have to defeat one of them to end the first phase immediately, so you can use Lucca's Hypnowave to deal with only one of them. In the second phase, where they fuse into Masa & Mune, they have 3600 HP, 127 defense, and 50 magic defense. It is also an introduction to the Boss Battle 2 theme as well. At 25:14, you can see Masa & Mune striking a "charging" pose accompanied by a message saying that they're "Storing Whirlwind energy." This means it will counter every attack with Wind Slash (an interesting way to telegraph what move the player should use against them). Crono's Wind Slash will cancel their charge attack, meaning they wouldn't use Vacuum Wave at that moment. Fire Sword and Fire Punch are good moves to use in this battle. For me, I don't remember dying to this boss on my first playthrough, though. But don't worry, you'll get better soon enough, as long as you pay attention to what the enemy is doing (accompanied by some battle messages). 1:04:20 This enemy right here is called a "Nu." It seems to be like this game's mascot in a way, but it is considered an artificial creature throughout Chrono Trigger. These enemies have 1234 HP, 127 defense, and 50 magic defense. They fight by reducing your HP to 1 and then taking their sweet time to eventually follow up with an attack that does only 1 damage, so all you would have to do is heal off who ever had their HP set to 1. You just need to take it out before it can take you out. Defeating a Nu will give you 248 EXP and *30* TP. It's a pretty good way to grind for techs in this game. You might've also noticed that you weren't able to battle it here in the Cursed Woods despite the fact that you interacted with it. To *actually* battle it in the Cursed Woods specifically, you need to get into an encounter with an enemy, AND the Nu *must* be onscreen to force it into battle. There is also another area where you can battle a Nu, and it's the next area where you're going to in this game, being 65,000,000 BC. On the topic of the Forest Ruins and the mysterious black chests, I'm afraid you can't really do anything with them *yet,* so you'll have move on until you find a way to interact with them properly. There's also a unique trick that also involves unlocking them in 600 AD, where - should you be asked if you want to open the item - you would hit no, and then go into 1000 AD to open the chests for something more special. At 1:15:12, it seems you were a bit confused on how to get back to the End of Time here, lol. Instead of having to walk all the way through the whirlpool/Coastal Vortex into Heckran Cave, the shorter way to get back is by using interacting with the wardrobe you just came out of to get to Medina Village. Hmm... It seems you lost to Spekkio again. Try equipping some accessories that increase your speed to outspeed him, like the Headband or raise your magic attacks with Magic Scarfs.

The glowing pyramid can only be accessed after you get the ability to open the magically sealed chests and doors.

@@MrMilesTV It's still a ways off but here's a protip: some chests exist in 2 timeperiods and you can open them in both if you get the chests in the present time first.
