I've really enjoyed your walkthrough. I'm old enough to have played the SNES when it was first release. It really was unlike any other game at the time in every category from gameplay mechanics, graphics, story, and music. Completely ahead of its time and it still holds up. It's been great to watch your reaction to all of it :) and remember what I experience when I was a kid. A few tips as you head to the end of the game if you want a little help. if not don't read. Don't worry there are no story spoilers below. 1. The time travel mechanic plays an enormous part of the next section of the game If you want to some of the best gear in the game. Take that aspect into consideration before you make a quick decision. 2. Talk to EVERY NPC everywhere you go and don't discount what they're saying. Once again it will help you figure out puzzles and secrets for the best gear, and also simply where to go next. 3. As you already know, a lot of enemies, especially bosses, can't be beat by brute force. It will only get harder lol. Don't expect to win all fights the first time, but if read what all the different character's techs, weapons, accessories, etc do. the next time you can prepare and it will make the fight a lot easier. Also. pay attention to all the text that pops up during a fight. It will help with figuring out how to win. 4. Always choose to use your highest level techs, duel techs, and triple techs if you can get away with it. The damage is always much, much better. 5. Ayla's charm tech will steal stuff. Charm EVERYTHING lol.

Hint for later with the black omen you can tackle it in three time periods present, middle ages, and dark ages, you can thus fight the final boss multiple times of the Black Omen multiple times which you can steal from to get some of the best armour in the game.

Also the northern ruin contains a characters best weapon but only if you know the trick with the black boxes.

Also at one point in development supposedly they considered actually killing off chrono with no way to revive him.

Of course, however, there was a scenario in which the party would go back in time to retrieve an earlier version of him, but Square thought that idea was too depressing and asked for Kato and Horii to bring Crono back to life.

I honestly don't get why some people are so hellbent on commenting about every little bit - the "imperfection" should be part of the journey imo, I can always fire up the game for myself when I want to watch someone do a perfect run 🤷🏻‍♀️

@MrMiles Time to unpack a LOT again: 2:07 Schala's Amulet is *invaluable* if you do not want to deal with status in the late game. 3:53 This mysterious ship here is just called the Black Omen. It serves as the final dungeon in the game but is still optional. If you are thinking of coming here, make sure that you are well-prepared for any status ailments and have Ayla in the party to steal items from any enemies within. 4:28 As for these two green portals within 65000000 BC and 600 AD, they are known as the Lost Sanctum, which was added for the DS version of Chrono Trigger and onwards. I HIGHLY recommend ignoring this for now and just focusing on the main game because the Lost Sanctum is criticized for its repetitive nature. If you still plan to do it, try saving it for the post-game. 17:29 You can check behind this here grave for something else. ;) 19:30 Talking to this NPC here is part of a trigger for the Northern Ruins side-quest, but you'll have to talk to a similar male NPC in 600 AD. 23:02 This small "hint" of Glenn recognizing this ghost to be that of Cyrus may incentivize you to go to the same Hero's Grave (also known as Northern Ruins before the quest of Cyrus in the SNES/PS version) to do something here. 29:25 To grind for silver points at the Millennial Fair, you can just beat up Gato at least 4 times. 37:09 Now that you've spoken to this specific NPC, go speak to the same one I mentioned at 19:30, then go speak to the 1000 AD Carpenter's wife, then back to the 600 AD Carpenter, and then speak to him at his house (still in 600 AD). 54:34 Like Norstein Bekkler said himself, if you get enough correct inputs on this mimic minigame, he'll take a large sum of your money, but send the doppel doll to Crono's house. So, the more inputs you got in correctly, the less money he'd take, but if you get all inputs correctly, you get the doll for free. 58:42 In the SNES/PS1 Ted Woolsey translation, this message says that this Nu construct DOES sleep beyond the flow of time. 1:00:06 Starting off at Death Peak, we are introduced to new enemies called Blood Yolks (also known as Krakkers in the SNES/PS1 version). They are quite unremarkable, as they only have 500 HP, and their only attack is Chomp, which seemingly ignores defense and allows them to steal *your* HP. 1:01:18 Hmm... It seems that you're low on items again, friend. Maybe grab more Hi-Potions, Panaceas, Shelters, and Mid-Eithers to compensate for your low item count. I'd say at least 40 of each item each can suffice when you're ready for the Black Omen. 1:03:13 Macabres are only slightly more dangerous than Blood Yolks because they have a Scythe attack that sets your HP to 1. They have 582 HP and can be charmed for Hi-Eithers and Ethers, respectively. 1:04:57 This is the most dangerous enemy on Death Peak: the Lavos Spawn. However, it's actually considered a boss here; it has 4000 HP while its shell is invincible and counters using Lavos Spawn Needles to the entire party, punishing you for using AoE skills. So, all you have to do is hammer away at the Lavos Spawn's head while being careful of its attacks that can confuse and put you to sleep. If you are successful at Charming the head, you can obtain an extra Elixir. 1:20:56 The Masamune *will* eventually become better, at least in terms of physical damage *IF* you choose to do the Northern Ruins quest. 1:25:19 And yes, you *can* equip Schala's Amulet to your other party members.
