Chrysler 200 Headlight Bulb Removal - Passenger 9012 bulb

Super helpful and appreciate getting straight to the point. I took a short cut and turned the wheels left and just unbolted the 9/32s. I could pry the liner away from the fender. I had my daughter shine a flashlight through the lens from the front of the car and it make seeing the socket really easy. For those complaining about how hard this is, try a 2007 Prius.

Our daughter's 2012 Chrysler 200 4 cylinder was easy, just remove the radiator overflow tank bolts (2) and place the tank out of the way. The removal and lamp replacement then took about 10 minutes.

Yeah if you have the time to remove the tire it would make the job one hell of a lot easier. Every time I've had to replace one of these light bulbs it's always been a last-minute repair or somebody not with a ton of time on their hands. This way it gets it done. Little more strenuous whatever works. If you have time I always recommend removing the wheels to get to it. You could also do a quick little brake inspection while you're there too. Never hurts to take a look on how everything is wearing. Good luck on your DIY fix.

Is the bulb on the passenger side tip missing? With mine it was and when I got a new bulb it wouldn’t fit in my car???? And when putting it in do you have to turn it to make it stay or does the cap hold it in place. I tried a 9006 and it seemed to fit but not turn like the 9012 did?

This is a joke. Who designs something like this? I spent 30 minutes trying to get the bulb out the normal way and couldn't. Now I am watching this and think that I have to take the car to a mechanic in order to replace the bulb. I mean replacing a light!!! Give me a break.

+Spiro Dimaris thank you. It is a pain on some vehicles but with a little know how, the job gets a little easier. This lady was going to get charged $90 to change her bulb, a hour of labor. I did it for free and it only too me 20 mins if that.

All you have to do is turn the wheel there is an access panel no need to remove the whole thing. All you need is a screw driver that's it

Noe Silva They didn’t come with access panels with first generation 200 unfortunately, but they smarten up with second generation 200 ( I believe 2015 and up)
