Just recently discovered how easy and cheap it is to rebuild automatics. This series on Dodge trans has been a great help. Ive already done a couple successfully, but the details and nuances, and your slow simple step by step approach is terrific!!! Thank you for putting This out!! what if we dont have paint thiner is there something else we can use to clean the parts ?

if you put more frictions on the front direct clutch housing (so add one more. my have three ) whats gonna happen is gonna work or do some damage to it?

I am having an incredibly hard time finding an od planetary gear and sun gear for my 1991 46rh Mine is a 2prong no lock up, not sure if that makes a difference.

I use a 30l ultrasonic parts cleaner for all parts. Works great and I can reach every single corner (optimum for the valve body)

doesnt the check valve restrict fluid flow

No the check valve is a small ball inside of the channels in the tranny that roll back and forth with fluid movement but on one side there is an o-ring seal and on the other side there is a mesh wall

Their official name is a 1 way ball check valve and they stop fluids from flowing backwards where it doesn't belong
