Once I realized that a MoPar minivan is eligible for the Antique Automobile Club of America, I began to realize just how old I've gotten. I've had 3 of these minivans. I loved them all. Except when the sliding door fell off on the Interstate. Fun times.

Thanks so much for the video. It helped me big time. I bought a new hose set from the dealership and one quart of transmission fluid as it had lost about a quart. I lost one of those clips as it went flying and was never to be seen again but I couldn’t run to the auto parts store as it was my only car so I talked my usual guy at my local auto store chain to drop it off at my house which he did for $20!

Alot of people suffer with this and I found that it's most the time the o ring on the connector the lines go to on the condenser! Change it first before blowing so much money on lines.

TIP: the E-Clips can be put back into the retainers PRIOR to putting the new lines on the vehicle. When you press the lines in you will hear the "snap" of the clips locking the hoses in place. Makes it a bit easier to put the clip in without the hoses in the way. 😉👍🏻

Hey Dale , went back to work in October so a little behind on what you are up to. Catching up a bit now that I am home with COVID again ! Not as bad as a year and half ago but bad enough. Might be about ready to return to work but Janet has it too now and my work likes everyone in the house to be free of it for 48 hr's before I return. I hope you have been lucky enough to not get it.

Hi! Quick question on a YJ, unrelated to this video.. my lower radiator hose is ice cold to the touch, upper hose is very hot. Is this normal? I had a slight coolant leak, but gauge is ready steady in the middle like normal. Thanks for your help!

@cantando al rey de reyes, did you look back through this video carefully. Go to the video at 2:55 and see the cooler side connections and at 4:18-4:25 to see the transmission side connections. You said you replaced your transmission and disconnected the lines. So look at your lines, (I'm assuming they're factory?) one has black plastic "retainers", the other has gray. In this video you can see where both ends of both hoses connect to the cooler and the transmission. The line with the gray "retainers" connects to the top of the cooler and to the transmission on the fitting closest to the firewall. I've noticed that hose also tends to have the part number sticker on the metal tubing...

No need to buy new lines just be sure the old lines at the connection point are extremely cleaned with brake cleaner spray, then put 2 new metric o-rings on, one on each line, and seal it with black silicone sealer. Works great for a year so far!

Hello! i have the same transmission on my 2013 dodge avenger sxt 2.4l 6 speed i have a problem with it while driving when i drive 30 miles and start braking and the transmission shifts shifts from 3rd gear to 2nd gear and at this point when it shifts at 20 miles i hear a thump Even when the car is standing still and running, I try to switch gears from P-R-D, I hear kicking, and when I checked like this, the engine moves as if all the supports are broken, although the supports are in normal condition

It worked, clear generic silicone tape, on a leaking oil cooler line that has up to 65psi of hot oil in it. It was leaking 1 quart every 200 to 300 miles and now it's leaking none. 350 miles later of mountain, Interstate, and town driving. Used 2 hours of time (half was cleaning hose) and a $7 10' roll of silicone tape that I wanted to test. Took about 30" of clear tape to do one end of the hose while on the car. I prefer the clear as it allows me to see through it. I developed a technique to do it in tight space. Gave it 3 overlapping layers in a different pattern. Straight wrap, diagonal, then straight again. Any pattern works but important to have different seal points of different wrapping and do it as tight as you can, with space provided. Also important to squeeze and rub firmly on it to get each layer to fuse for 5 minutes or so before the next layer and the final layer. If it's higher than 65psi I would also place single double wrapped pieces directly over the leak, for extra strength material before the first layer of the 3 wraps. Or wrap it 4 times.

Hi ... I have a 2013 dodge grand caravan sxt .... Has a check engine light p0302, P0740, C212A, C 2100 ... I replaced spark plugas , coils, inyectors, I even tray a new computer ... And still came up the same codes mentioned .... Would you known what could be the problem?
@zenithperigee7442
@zenithperigee7442 Жыл бұрын
@David Andrade, that's a lot of codes. I noticed the C2100 suggests the ABS system is monitoring battery voltage and trips when it detects a very low voltage. Not being "the mechanic", I try to watch lots of YT videos on these types of things and start out with the simple stuff like checking fuses, checking battery voltage to be sure it's above 12V like usually 12.45V I think is pretty normal with no load. I also check the battery cables, any grounding cables to make sure they're not corroded, loose etc. I had a P0301 on a 2014 R/T. It happened whilst driving down the highway, clearly noticeable problem with the engine stumbling and sputtering. I checked the resistance values on the injectors. Other injectors had resistance values of around 12 ohms whilst the number 1 injector was 144 ohms so I figured the injector was bad, replaced it and it definitely fixed the problem. If a code is stored with no noticeable engine issues, it makes me wonder if it's more of a grounding/wiring issue. The sad thing is these vehicles also have "TIPM" Totally Integrated Power Module issues. I noticed all of the fuses and relays in mine had started to back OUT of their slots. Unbelievable... I also had an oil pressure switch code which turned out to be a faulty oil pressure sensor because it was constantly reading "96psi" of oil pressure on the in-dash display. I also had a thermostat code, catalytic converter inefficiency code, small/large leak evap codes... Replacing the thermostat fixed the thermostat code. The others, I pulled battery power, hooked it back up and they pretty much stayed off until recently a "gas cap code" appeared. So I put some oil on the gas cap seal and tightened. Honestly, Idk if it's just Dodge or vehicles in general but never have I had so many issues with a single vehicle in a short period of time with less than 140,000 miles and less than 10 yrs old.. -_- I have vehicles 20 yrs old and older, one with over 240,000 miles and it just needs the transmission reprogrammed but is still drivable. The worst thing thing with the van thus far tho was the notorious "Pentastar tick/tap sound" where in this case the intake cam on the rear bank was being shredded by the roller rocker arm frames after the rollers and needle bearings failed. Unbelievable in a vehicle that was maybe 5-6 yrs old at the time and maybe 115,000 miles. I don't even know as I "inherited" the vehicle from a family member. Replacing that cam (and I decided to replace all 24 rockers and lifters at the same time) was some kind of job and not for the average person really unless you really pay attention, have all of the proper tools and time to do the work... The worst part of all was the lousy plastic "timing tools" did not work as they were supposed to... Anyway, I do hope you can get your van's issues sorted out.
