Saw Chuck perform in Sydney Australia back in the 1980's with Bo Diddly and Jerry Lee Lewis. Chuck used to perform at Blueberry Hill Restaurant & Club in St. Louis the first Wednesday of every month - was fortunate to meet Chuck, shake his hand, get his autograph and the pick he used to play his guitar. Rock N Roll Legend Loved by All - not many left where you are able to understand the words and the message.

I watched Chuck Berry in person more that 20 times during my life...the last time being in 1988 in San Jose. The first time was in 1969 at Fillmore West in San Francisco. The guy who made it happen, little doubt.

Chuck was no guitar virtuoso but his gritty playing displayed a massive rock n roll soul. His singing was like that too. Combine that with his huge stage presence and his riff creating prowess and you have Chuck Berry.
