Chuck is the TRUE KING of Rock 'n Roll. He practically invented Rock and Roll with just one song, Johnny B Good. So many songs today have that very same format. He bridged the gap between older Black Blues and new rock and roll. He was also a great lyric writer and also had great stage showmanship as well. Put that all together and he is a TRUE Rock Legend, and will always be Forever.

Classic Chuck - nobody comes close. Promised Land is a master class in songwriting, part history lesson, part autobiographical, part celebration of overcoming the greatest of odds. I cry when he gets to the last verse. The songwriting was that good. The skill he had meant listeners didn’t see colour and establishment that fought against equality lost their power. He does a little guitar salute to the piano player in the last few bars, which is so sweet and poignant.
