for the white beans you can make a dish, white beans and rice. Which has more than just the name entails. You cook Great Northern beans on low heat for hours all day. On the side you prepare your rice. Once the beans are almost done, add cured ham and maybe parsley if you want. Add a bit of salt and a lot of black pepper. Serve with rice on the bottom and goey beans with pork on top
