I actually have this little thing... ... and yes, I love it. It is not strong, nor lives long with one charge - the only painpont for now -, but it does the job done when you actually have to carry it around on long trips and still do some light work on the side. And yes, the Windows 11 Home it comes with helps a lot in means of applicaiton compatibility, thus usefulness. I actually scraped together the money after I have tried to purchase a couple - yes, a couple - of old notebooks of similar sizes and upgrading them so I can actually use them... and I wish that the Chuwi Minibook X would have come sooner to save me some trouble, not to mention money (even if I love old computers, love to tinker with them ;) ). (The four cores are just unbeatable, not to mention size, weight, and even the screen resolution.)

For emulation games that won't run full speed 60, then use the PAL versions (50Hz) instead of the NTSC versions (60Hz) of the ROMs

@gamers-generation8 ай бұрын
Great question, actually I didn't know about the 3140 when I bought the Minibook X, but I do prefer the smaller bezels and weight, despite the smaller battery. The 3140 does seem price competitive when refurbished as you pointed out, my only gripes there would probably be the 4/8GB of RAM and the smaller SSD for the price. Thought maybe I'll have to investigate further to see how much the N200 is handicapped by the loss of 4GB of RAM... Thanks for your comment!
@NikolaosTsitsoulis8 ай бұрын
why would you get this instead of a second hand Macbook air 11.6 e.g. from 2015 or a Macbook (12 inch )?
@gamers-generation8 ай бұрын
Probably a couple of reasons. MacBooks don't have touchscreens or convertibility for one, and for another you'd have to buy one used and some people prefer simply not to buy used electronics (I personally have no issue with them generally); the last one I can think of currently though is that the 2015 MacBooks will likely enter EOL soon and no longer receive critical updates. I acknowledge they are a different kind of product though and the Minibook is probably better compared to say an iPad though those can vary in prices significantly. Thanks for your comment!

I’m looking for a laptop around the size of an iPad Air that is strictly for doing some school work without having to take my 16 inch laptop to work. Would you recommend this laptop? Or does anyone have any suggestions?
@gamers-generation Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! I think for having a smaller portable laptop (particularly one that has a touch screen and convertibility) this one should check most boxes for you particularly for school work/productivity. At the price I paid, (again going to around $300-$350 is pushing the recommendation down a bit) there aren't many competitors. If you look around on Best Buy for instance (if you're US-based) most laptops in this price range are either non-convertible, have much older CPUs, are much heavier/bigger, and probably can't game anyway. That said, if you do pay more money, you can probably get something that converts or is a 2-in-1 like the Asus Flow Z13, that IS a lot more money though, even when on sale (usually aroundd $750 or so for the last generation with a 3060 inside). Thanks again for the comment!

I did a quick Newegg search for a 5300U laptop and most of them are in the $300 range or more; while you get a bigger screen, they're also not convertible, so there are definitely trades/compromises that should be made. I wrote to them, no any responses except an automatically reply by their web system acknowledging receiving my mail. Three times. From my fourth letter I requested return, then the fifth letter, not a single word from them so far. I filed a complaint against Chuwi US store with California Dept. of Consumer Affairs yesterday, but I know I could never get my money back since their policy is within 14 days for return. Also they played some tricks: when I requested return, I have to submit a form at US store website but the page automatically converted after your submission to another Chuwi page where immedialtely popped up a widow saying seems you are in the USA, then redirected me back to its US store page, again and again, endless cycle, you can never initiate the return process. Lesson, my real lesson. Tomorrow I will travel outside US with this laptop for months with constant worry about charging, charging... I can tell its WIFI connection is not strong and stable.
