The emotion for me on this one hits way too hard. Numb to it even after listening to it numerous times and it still flashes me back to a very real, very specific place and time. Almost as if you all had written it after watching an episode of my life. If this came from any of you then I know how you feel and can empathize in this situation. Thanks to your guys' talent for putting it to music.

"it's better if you don't / care, but if you do / I won't follow you / again" the emotion in this is palpable, and I love how "follow" has a double meaning with the social media theme of the album

The emotion from this track literally made me laugh because of how relatable it is, and the shed some tears as I really absorbed it. Truly art. Screen Violence and Colors II by Between The Buried And Me are definitely the albums of the year.

🎼LYRICS: Drinking to the things I can't take back Thinking of the friends and faith I lack And no one broke my heart quite like that man It's better if you don't care but if you do I won't follow you again TV's on but facing at the wall Can they tell I don't like me at all? I'm never as alone as I am back home Pulling every thread Seemed like a thing to do Now I can't give it back My favourite kind of blue It's better if I don't dwell but if I do I won't call on you again Tinseltown was always in the rain I've been gone and notice every change And some of them are not our friends And some of them are still our friends but dead It's better if I don't think too much of you I've been on my own So I should see it through I mumble when I speak But I mean it when I do I carry what I keep I don't miss a lot of you I drink and I think too much I should quit one of the two But I won't wish for luck And I won't bother you It's better if you don't care but if you do I won't follow you again

Yea, I can't get enough of this one for some reason. I love how she changes the phrasing in the "Tinseltown.." line, and also the "I drink and think too much..." part. It's rare when you get an album that you can listen to all the way through, let alone keep on doing it over and over. Its a special one indeed.

The new drummer is so good! I hope he becomes an official member of the band. Just returned from Bonnaroo and Chvrches was the standout show. It was beautiful and dramatic, and the sound effects were better than ever! Better than any movie! It seems like having a drummer frees up Iain and Martin to stand out on guitar and bass, and then return to drenching the audience with sound effects. I like the new line-up and the new songs. Thanks to Chvrches for a great show!

My favourite song on the album. The melancholy nostalgia is brilliantly captured and some stylistic aspects wistfully remind me of some of the prior bands each of them were in - harking back to more innocent and care free times. I also like how it is thematically reminiscent of Arcade Fire’s Suburbs, which is one of my favourite albums of all time.

Fortunately they left that poor pop from the last album to focus on something more cohesive... I hope the band will follow this path of synth/indie/pop and indie/rock. When the band finally incorporates a more rock side, they have what many already call their best album. the world is going through a moment when great artists need to return to value the sound of a guitar or any more organic instrument... And the dark theme of this album fits in very well with the concept.

Man CHVRCHES really fell off. They just make washed out pop music now, what happened to their Synth Punk distinctiveness? Still a solid album, but where is that individuality?
