This was a failure on the CIA. Spann and Tyson should have never been there alone with 400 Taliban fighters. They should have had troop support. They could’ve still collected intelligence had they done that. Tyson hadn’t fired a gun in 5 years prior to the prison uprising . Spann however was a combat vet and an e obedience operator. It’s sad he lost life .

I’ve read first hand accounts of people that have spent years in Afghanistan and all of them believed they were doing good, there were very few soldiers there that were there to commit war crimes. You can thank your orange supreme leader Trump (who lost re-election, by the way) for signing a peace treaty with the Taliban on 2/29/2020 which required the U.S. military to withdraw all forces from Afghanistan no later than May 2021. Joint Declaration between the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the United States of America for Bringing Peace to Afghanistan, Part 2, Article 2, states, “Consistent with the joint assessment and determination between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the United States, its allies, and the Coalition will complete the withdrawal of their remaining forces from Afghanistan within 14 months following the *announcement of this joint declaration and the U.S.-Taliban agreement, and will withdraw all their forces from remaining bases, subject to the Taliban’s fulfillment of its commitments under the U.S.-Taliban agreement.” * The agrement was signed on 2/29/2020. 14 months later is 4/29/2021.
