These long podcast are dope! I’m a truck driver and have 11 hours to fill on the radio everyday, the less I gotta search for something to put on the better lol. Keep ‘em coming.

@@evsthejedi go to school and get one. My advice to you is to save up and pay out of pocket. I was similar to you. 10 years ago I was in my early 20s and got a job delivering office supplies in a box truck. I realized I enjoyed driving and I saved up, went to school for a month and got my CDL free and clear. Before I was an owner operator, the last company I drove for would put their dock guys through school because it was hard to find drivers. I suggest not doing that. They will put you in an employment contract for a number of years at an inflated penalty rate for quitting. For instance, the guys at my job got their CDL but had to stay for 3 years or pay a prorated balance on $10,000 tuition. Besides being gouged for double the cost of paying out of pocket, you now have zero leverage for a raise etc. I will tell you that once you have your CDL, work for a local LTL company to sharpen your skills. Backing up 20-30 times a day making local deliveries sharpens your skills fast. Some Otr drivers back up into a dock once or twice a week and it definitely shows. And line haul for a LTL company pays more then most otr jobs. It’s typically graveyard but you’re home every day. I’m located in Seattle so I had to cross 2 mountain passes twice a day and sometimes had to chain up 8 times by the time I got home. But I also made $108,000 a year. The industry pays on what your duty’s are. If you wanna pull a dry van in an automatic truck your whole career- $65k is about the cap. If you wanna pull a tanker, flat bed or oversized you’ll make more. Add me on instagram albooboogenieofthelamp there videos backing up doubles, etc on my page. Give you an idea of what to expect

Funny that a "buddhist" is trying to quote from a Bible you don't follow. What a scoffer you are, you only fulfill the Proverb: wine is a scoffer, strong drink a brawler. Matthew 5:15-16. Go read it. @@Alex-cp3fx

Great interview. A member of the Unit that served with Bob is a very close family friend and he has nothing but good things to say about him. He's the type of person I aspire to be. Not as some high speed operator but as a person. But I have to say the end of the interview seemed kind of rushed. We were still in his Unit days and all of a sudden we jumped directly to Khost. I would have liked to hear about his leaving the Unit, how he felt about leaving and then his entering the Global Response element of the Agency. But still a great interview. I've listened to Bobsled on the SRS (which was also great) yet this was also a very good interview.

I really enjoyed this interview as a truck driver. And with the utmost respect for the guest. Only thing that bothered me about this interview was at the end. The get over it narrative. Just because it hasn't happened to you, doesn't mean its not happening. We as Americans are all trying to do the best we can for our families, without the worry or trauma from foreign or domestic terrorism. And that for every race of people in this Gumbo pot

@croatoansounds Жыл бұрын
@@green_genie yea, some of their stories are worth telling but I think they need to be done so in a more edited context. So these guys can ramble and just be themselves, but then it can be cut down for us audiences. Like the part here about being found AWOL when he was working on a base and doing nothing wrong; i thought that would be really interesting but I kept having to fast forward cause we just kept going off in every direction EXCEPT what the hell happened haha. Then suddenly I’ve fast forwarded too far, and have to go back lol
