Gunna be honest, in my opinion it sucks that we were put in quarantine during such an unfun format if you're not playing the top two decks. I know people always complain about the meta but at the moment its basically Elditch and Adamancipators that are overwhelmingly meta and everything else is rogue. I honestly preferrred the format of Sky strikers, Orcust, thunderdragon and Salamengreat since those were the meta decks but even then there were rogue decks running around then and you had your pick of what type of deck to play if you wanted to play meta. The format lasted a while and I understand that it grew a bit stale but formats where there's top 4 or 5 meta decks feel a lot more fun in my opinion than a format with two top decks and the others have to perfectly counter both of them to survive.

There's normally always an anti-meta answer, even if it isn't fun. For example, if you play banish maju stun that centers on normal summoning Banisher of the Radiance, any Eld build going second cannot play the game at all bc the graveyard is required for activation of all their effects. That and a judgment, ash, or TCBOO is basically auto-win. Aside from that, a lot of rogue strategies are simply pushed out of the game for the time being.

another crazy thing at least I noticed about Token Collector is it's CRAZY synergy with (your) Nibiru essentially removing even the hope of a comeback, as we saw several nibiru tokens beat over even the main boss, but, because Token collector doesn't care who summoned the token, you're pretty much in the clear after using Nibiru.

If you're running an aggressive combo deck I suggest dragged down over red lotus as it takes out hand traps, let's you see your opponents hand in your turn so you can set up your board accordingly and probably trades a redundant card for something potentially useful, it's actually nuts.

Fun fact, if you get a good nibiru board wipe but are too afraid of the giant token it produces, you can play Token Collector on resolution after Nibiru summons the token to your opponent's side of the field. It's a pretty cheeky 2 card combo but it's so satisfying to pull off.

you know the format is bad when: - Nibiru originally once was considered meh at the beginning, till they realize Halqifibrax has become a staple engine, so it sees massive play again. - Situational Niche cards like Uka, appointer, and Token Collector are seeing side deck play to counter specific combos/cards - DRNM, Evenly, and Lightning Storm are considered not enough by themselves. - Halqifibrax has become the main problem of the format, and not eldlich or adamacipator

Problem is going 1st cards aren't as good as going 2nd cards or omni-active cards (hand traps) because literally everyone wants to go 1st in dice roll formats like these. And like Cimoo said, there aren't many good going 2nd cards atm other than Ra Sphere Mode. But ignoring all of that, those cards still have issues. Deck Lockdown could be outed by Eldlich himself, but is overall decent, probably not as good as Summon Limit, which can make the opponent waste resources, by wasting starters. Ground is pretty good, but is a bit harder to activate than Lancea (but imo better), but far outclassed by Evenly or Dimension Shifter.

D.D. crow is great going first and second but isn't a powerhouse card to be worth a side deck spot so it's usually either main decked or not played. Compare this with another hand trap like psy-frame gamma, unless you go into lambda it's useless going first but going second it has huge impact compared to an ash or imperm so it's usually put in the side deck.

Honestly, I dislike this meta, even more so than before KONAMI killed all the top tier decks, because if you're playing rogue, you have a low chance of winning, because of the consistency and speed of the rest of the decks. Secret Slayers was a mistake, in and out.

Years ago when Duelist Alliance came out, it didn't just outshine the current meta, not only did it introduce 3+ competitive strategies, it changed the game forever by introducing new card design philosophies. Those two decks Dominating the Meta, if one of the decks did not exist, the other would be Tier 0 (More likely if it wasn't Eldlich), which would mean that it has a high chance of either or both decks getting cut from the game entirely just like how Zoodiacs were killed by banning their best Xyz monsters. Although, it took 7 months for Konami to hit Zoodiacs and the quickest something was banned was 3 months. I'm just hoping they kill most of the cards, maybe even just cut the decks out of the metagame.

The OP was complaining about Secret Slayers itself, when Duel Overload, the set before it, was rushed out and obviously had a hand shaping the meta. Why did I bring up Duelist Alliance specifically? It's easy. Secret Slayers and Duelist Alliance both came out around the start of their new respective master rules and debuted decks that overshadowed many of the things before it. (Shadoll Invoked is doing what now exactly?) Its a similar situation but years apart. You know, something with no relation whatsoever.

Try book of moon, its a bit more tricky to use but there are points where this card comes in really clutch, the first is very early on in the adamancipator combo and smacking the golden lord facedown shuts down their trap effects or the jet synchron/deskbot001 summoned off needlefiber messes up the auroradon combo. Don't worry I gave joban the critical information now he's gonna top a PPG because of it.

I only try to use gamma in decks that can have other uses for the dead copies. I've summoned it from hand in pendulum strategies before for synchro plays and now I use it for a light fusion target for construct.

Depends on the deck. Shifter if no need grave/no much recursion. Called if can't play through single handtrap ever (like, any interruption = otk). Side ok if worried about own deck capabilities need better reinforcement (going first, starters, grind game, etc.) But ask around for other opinions

honesly playing nibiru when the most powerfull deck of the format summons a negate BEFORE the 5 required seems a waste to me. Maybe i'm wrong, and i don't know what deck you're playing, but if you can rely on Dimension Shifter without being hurted by his effect, then go for it.
