I'm fine with 3 losses in a row let's you ban something, that feels very fair, but being able to keep banning things every game until you win just fucks all the good pulls your opponent got thus far. I think it would be better if after 4 losses you got to spin the wheel next episode along with the winner. If they get to banning things every episode it'll just make a stale format where both players have the same decks and cardpool, which isn't fun to watch

@@MrIdontnowaname Here is what will happen. DB1 Gage will dig for Dark Hole, MOF, Heavy, and maybe something else. Worst case scenario he uses 1 ticket and only nabs 1. Cimo will have to pick and choose between SRs and URs from all 3 sets, potentially foregoing some cards entirely in favor of say, Raigeki. Potentially using 1-2 tickets and not even necessarily winning the following game. In the meantime, he'll also be letting Gage snowball with these wheel spins. Not using those tickets was a giant mistake and I think everyone will find this out the hard way come episode 14.

Love to see Mirror Wall. So underrated. I remember when it was the premium Duel Links trap! Ban targets? Swords or Gravity Bind are probably the biggest threats in the short-term, with no impact in the long-term. But in this series, the short-term is probably more important because banning long-term cards like Painful Choice will just have Cimo losing continuously right now and will just give Gage more powerful wildcards every week. Very interesting decision to be made here.

It's probably just a waste of a ban since by episode 10 or so, they're gonna be irrelevant. Swords is very strong now, and still gonna be playable through most of GX, maybe into 5D's. Gravity Bind is a menace until Cimo gets S/T removal.

@@pinkdelicious655 Long term doesn't matter atm. Clown Control is literally doing CIMO in every week, because as long as they stay for a turn, Gage just 📈 and then attacks directly. There's no shortage of stall cards in Yugioh, the soonest replacement for the clowns is Scarabs and Locusts, which come with the Grave Keepers in Pharoanic Guardian. People screaming swords as the immediate hit are just telling CIMO to take another L next week.

Actually it was pretty live. If he has fired IO off when swords was active, it would have locked Gage's backrow to prevent chain energy from coming down. Set Sangan to get killed in battle to fish for Cyber Jar. Cimo would have had enough LP to tank a hit, set cyber jar next turn then see where it goes from there.

Blocking Swords on it's last turn wouldn't help because of Mirror Wall/ possible Gravity Bind. Blocking Chain Energy could have saved him some life points but ultimately not advance his game state. And blocking Rush Recklessly would also negate his own Nuzzlers, so he'd lose to Dream Clown anyway.

I think the best option to ban for cimoo is probably either swords of revealing light or dream clown. Swords seems the obvious choice, the other floodgates are sort of work aroundable, but swords is just super strong. Otherwise you can hit the payoff for sticking all the floodgates that is dream (and crass) clown, which is good until pacman maybe becomes a thing then cimoo'll still have a hard time, but on the positive side it could throw a wrench in gage's plans and let cimoo hit some wins

Depends on if he wants to ay for the long game. Once they hit late syncro early xyzs Swords isn't very good and the clowns get bad once the Pac-Man cards come out in like a few episodes so I feel like its Swords or another DM staple. I think probably the best bet is to hit either trunade or change of heart and I'm leaning into change of heart because it just gets better the longer the series goes on. It is at its worst right now and it has already taken at least 1 game.

50:17 Yeah that's what I was thinking, you can lose on purpose just to keep banning cards in the other player's deck, another good idea to stop the winner's snowball, but very poorly executed.

More importantly, you can intentionally throw one in three games as the dominant player. If you win five games in a row, the opponent gets to ban three cards. If you go 4-1, the losing player has a one in ten chance to ban one card. Better, you can do this while justifying it as 'mixing things up for the viewer,' bring memey trash to the table every time you have two consecutive wins.

Sword is literally game winning for gages right now and there is no new major spell/trap removal for a while. it doesn't matter if it gets pwercrept in 15 episode, that means gage got to possibly spin for 15 more times, and among those spin he could get more cards, redoer coins, or even A ban, which gages know what card he would ban With IO and jinzo had a giant target on its back. This series is about tempo, on how you do it weekly by weekly.

I see a lot of people saying the ban is swords. I disagree, swords will eventually get limited and by the time it’s off the list it doesn’t really matter. I think the ban is one of trunade(If Cimo is planning to go hard on the trap sets with redoers) or CoH/Reborn. I think these are the picks because if Cimo wants to play the ‘Stall’ deck (Toll+chain energy) or any back row he cannot get around a mass back row clear as well as synergy with cards such as Premature/Swords. I also think banning CoH/Reborn could be the play mainly because these give Gage both an out and access to Cimo’s best monster (Jinzo). CoH gives gage the chance to take Jinzo and tribute over it with megacyber(or any 1 tribute) and then he can reborn it. Or he can just pop it with clown and revive it that way. I also think Cimo should use his bans looking more long term. This is because an unban ticket is 1/10 while a ban is guaranteed. I believe this could give Cimo a chance to ‘tank’ (Not saying he would intentionally lose more so experiment) to ban out a lot of the one sided staples and then go for a streak of his own.

I disagree with the logic of banning for the “long term” in a series with reprint sets available. It’s much more important rn to get access to the winner’s wheel especially at a time where there’s lots of powerful staples across all WC rarities and the higher-rarity WCs are easier access than last season. Cimo will most likely get access to raigeki eventually and banning it hurts him as well

@@GrimerCollects If he gets it later it can be unbanned re: raigeki, but at the moment, he doesn't have access to those power cards and they hose him. How much it truly matters is irrelevant because if Cimooo flips IO none of those cards are worth more then a kuriboh, but as it stands, the upcoming sets have a lower level of power till what, IoC? Sure you got some cards coming in between that can make an impact, but it's gonna be rough to see how Cimooo closes the power gap if he let's Gage keep them till IoC, and as we saw in season 1, even with the boss monsters from IoC, you can still miss struggle against these power spells. Also, we are a ways off from the reprint sets. The worst thing that can happen is Cimooo gives Gage a sizeable enough lead to where he can never catch him. I do agree there are a lot of sets, but season 1 was decided during the 5d's era due to a combo of Triple Kalut and DM staples.

Winner's Wheel is way too powerful. Swords has been blowing Cimo out and that's nabbed Gage a Reborn, Confiscation, redo and whatever he gets next time. Banning for the long term is just asking for Gage to get busted perks and snowball

@@GrimerCollects raigeki is both short and long term solution. It effortlessly remove the army of floater with equip spell that Cimo use. Other than that I agree, accessing to the wheel/dennied Gage the Wheel is much more impactful.

Cimo lost to swords three episodes in a row, i know that it's a while until they get to reprint sets, however it's not that long looking at the series as a whole.

@@mauroscarinci1451 TL:DR: Gravity Bind and battle tricks were enough to carry clowns to victory here without swords, also Jinzo has multiple outs. Cimo lost chiefly because he played poorly. 2 gravity binds means he has around a 30% chance of drawing it first turn. The only out that Cimo has is Jinzo which is one card and a tribute monster. Pot of greed only increases his chance of getting one first turn. Meanwhile he has mirror wall and rush recklessly as battle tricks to further protect the clowns. Also, if Jinzo becomes a problem, hane hane, prohibition, change of heart->sac>fiend megacyber, 2 fissure, and dark elf+rush all out it. Gage has multiple ways of dealing with it. If he hadn't banned raigeki, then he just gets otk'd by the clowns anyway because whatever defense he puts up gets swept away once Gage builds up enough board presence to do lethal. He's already lost to raigeki previously and it's going to happen more once Gage lands on the unban section of the pie which he'll do eventually. Cimo lost because he sucked at playing. Let's count the ways just in that game alone. 1) He discards the two beaters for no reason instead of setting the nuzzler and playing the field spell to get his hand down to 6. What's Gage going to do? Trunade them back to hand? Oh well. Just set them again on your next turn. 2) He didn't magic drain the chain energy, and even if Gage had dropped a spell to keep it, he didn't play imperial order, likely because he had some dumb notion of keeping it secret instead of playing proper. 3) He also didn't set a monster with ladybug while swords was up just to stall out even further. Gage has demonstrated that he will gladly and stupidly pay 1000 to attack defense monsters with Dark Elf, so why just leave ladybug in defense without summoning? Literally just summon a wind monster with 1600 or more attack and it forces Gage to Dream Clown to kill it, and even then, he'd have to hit through the ladybug as well. 4) Gage has a full backrow, Cimo Draws Cold Wave, chooses not to pay 500 to play it and ensure that the clown dies. Also, since the field is up, dark Elf can't hit over Harpie's Brother or the two 1700 beaters he discarded for no reason, so he literally had an out to the clown lock that would have cost only 1000 life and wouldn't have resulted in paying 1500 just to trade with the clown. Why even play the wind strat if you aren't going to make use of it when you can actually get a hit in? Either way, Fairy Box, the dark door, vengeful bog spirit, ekibyo drakmord are all coming next. The floodgates are just going to get more plentiful and if you waste your ban on just outing one instead of banning bannable staples that you don't have, you're only going to fall further in deficit because he can't ban his way out of the stall. He has to play around it.

Great ep boys! I totally get Cimo banning Raigeki, but Swords was the play. Raigeki coming in clutch in that one moment for Gage, last episode, was the worst thing that could have happened to Cimo. He was so close and that Raigeki play changed everything…giving him the justification to ban it. But overall….Swords is the card that is handicapping him the most and Gage has two. It should be the no brainer play next ep.

Ban situation is bizarre. Allowing a ban every week of consecutive losses after the first 3 incentivizes throwing for the person that's been winning: if current set is trash -> reduced wheel value such that the card saved from ban is more valuable than average wheel spin.

As crazy as it sounds, I think the right ban for the next episode is Dream Clown. Gage's entire strategy revolves around that card, so banning a card like Swords wouldn't help because Gage has other ways of stopping Alex's attacks, like Gravity Bind and Mirror Wall. The only way to fully shut down Gage's engine is to get rid of the clown.
