In game 2, when star eater attacks, it becomes unaffected by snatch steal, returning to gage and cancelling the attack. when the attacks ends, it returns to cimo, meaning that star eater cannot attack while snatched.

@@sammydray5919 Not to mention, Wingblast is HORRIBLE at stopping backrow. Wingblast is good against monsters because to play them again you need to give up your normal summon, against backrow, it does nothing because they can just set it again next turn with no downside. Raigeki Break is way better against backrow, so I honestly have no clue why he didn't at least swap the ratios of it and Wingblast to 3 Geki Break and 1 Wingblast.

Gage last week during MBT's stream: "I've been planning outs to Macro," apparently knowing "1000%," Cimoo was going to use it, then just deciding "Nah, I don't need to main deck backrow removal aside from Wingbeat, which Macro makes unusable, Wing Blast, which is horrible at stopping backrow, and 1 Raigeki Break, which is actually meh backrow removal." Gage for god's sake use basic logic for once. Even if you didn't want to change decks to a tribute focused one with stuff like March of the Monarchs, Vanity's, Jinzo, and Fires of Doomsday, at least main deck good backrow removal.

The idea of using them in a single attribute deck as an extender also exists (Tidal in Mermail, Redox in Gergia, etc.).

@Adnan Osmančević Wingbeat is very very bad against Macro, as his only level 5+ dragons are the D Rulers, which he can't summon under Macro. Also, pretty sure Cimoo has all of those backrow removal options, while Gage has a higher quality of backrow removal potentially, most are some combination of situational, costly, unreliable, or some combination of the 3, while Heavy Storm is great in basically any situation with backrow.

I sadly don't think Gage has the card pool to properly count anything Cimoo could throw at him. Don't get me wrong, Cimoo is definitely really impressive with his counter deckbuilding and creativity, and I don't think Gage would do it if he had the option, but Gage's pulls aren't as flexible regardless.

@@Yous0147 Go look at early pulls for stuff that just specifically locks down dark monsters. Sure, stuff like Icarus attack and whatnot would still potentially allow Alex to play around most of those, but when it's a couple specific cards vs practically an entire deck, it really doesn't matter. I think the only thing Alex had in his Blackwings deck most episodes that wasn't easily overpowered that wasn't a dark was CyDra. We're not talking more era-oriented cards here, we're talking stuff from LoB through to the first Synchro set - With SO many of the good cards from that era being dark types, there's a TON of random spells, traps and even effect monsters that hard counter dark type monsters, and I know for a fact a few of them were even played in earlier episodes by both players, so they both had them. Most of them are "bad" in a general setting, but stupidly good when you know exactly what deck your opponent is playing. I mean, a zero attack, zero defense monster card that is always pierced, but has the effect of "dark type monsters can't attack" would be good enough to play against a known blackwings deck, and most of them were way better than that, and dated back to the days of the CED deck at least. Add on top of that the ridiculousness of rarely, if ever, main decking stuff like Mind Crush during the repeated Blackwings episodes, where you can very easily just call specific cards any time it pops up and be near guaranteed to hit something... I said this back on the episode they implemented the ban list - The ban list being implemented was a result of Gage having no fucking clue how to build a deck, not Alex having overall better cards to an unfair extent. You still see it - Gage only wins when he gets SERIOUS input from OTHER PEOPLE on how to build a deck, significantly playtests it, and then immediately loses as soon as the next match comes around and any effort is put in to counter it by his opponent. I'm quite convinced you could give Gage 48 packs/episode and he'd still lose most matches, because the issue has never been him having bad cards since the first few sets.

Am I the only one who saw a mistake with Star Eater being able to connect an attack under Snatch Steal? EDIT: The reason for this is that, when Star Eater attacks under Snatch Steal, possession of the former returns to its previous controller (before Snatch Steal was equipped), since its effect renders Snatch Steal moot for that moment . Since the attacking Star Eater is no longer under its attacker's control, the attack stops, right after which Star Eater goes back to Snatch Steal's controller.

Your Right! Another mistake they made was the damage Cimo took from Star Eater attacking Gale Blackwing, Star Eater's attack should have returned to 3200 until the end of the damage step. Cimo only took 300 damage when he should have taken 1900 damage. This mattered as Cimo was not suppose to be able to make the Magical Scientist play!

Gale's effect is lingering, so it doesnt restore it's attack even if later becomes unaffected. But control of Star Eater changes back to Gage for the duration of the attack, returning back to cimo when the attack is cancelled.

Excuse me Cimo. But when Stareater attacks it is uneffected by card effects and for an instant you lose control of Stareater because it is no longer under the effect of Snatch Steal. So Stareater can’t inflict 1600 damage. I know that’s how it works because it’s happened to me before when playing against the computer. So Gage should have had at least one more turn before the duel was over. Because he should have 3700 life points when you drew Vanity’s Emptiness.

Man. Gage gets the most powerful deck for its time in history, with a pretty decent synchro lineup to go with it. Get's clean 2-0d against jank stun. This episode sums up the whole series...you gotta think Cimooo is just the better player. Someone else pointed out it's more than 2-1 in Cimoo's favor, despite Gage having superior cards for much of the series. Side note: 3 Vanity is crazy.

brute forcing wins is kinda difficult with how much of a power gap is needed. its far easier to adapt the deck and side deck to the meta where evencan dragon rulers struggle agaisnt a prepared player. that the main thing gage needs to learn is how to not just brute force wins
