The idea I am going to share does not apply to this video, but I found it to be very helpful when pressing my seams open for some of your blocks. I had a rough time keeping the seams flat when using my regular iron, so I tried using my little Clover mini iron and it works like a dream. It is simply a narrow wand with a flat head 3/4" wide and narrows at the tip to a point. I found out the hard way that it gets VERY hot!

I'm so excited to have all my supplies ready to begin. Should I prewash my fabric? I'm still pretty new to applique. I normally don't with regular quilting, but since this is applique and since I will be using the Pellon and wondering if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Thanks Ruth. Since I'm using the Pellon, I'll be certain make sure all my appliqued edges are secure because I do plan to wash after my entire quilt is assembled and I know the Pellon won't shrink.

Very nice! Thanks! I have Pellon wonder under. I’m gonna use what I got. I have a clover tape maker. I have to look and see if I have 1/4” if not it’s easy to make. For that one flower would the Dresden ruler work and just use the fatter end to make the petals. I do have a tumble template somewhere.i love this fabric. I wonder if it’s available now in 11/2018?? Thanks again for sharing. I do need to invest in the Aurifil threads. Beautiful all of it. Happy Thanksgiving ladies 💕

Susan, it is just a piece of plywood with a layer of batting + a layer of fabric on top. Batting and fabric are stapled to the back with a staple gun.
