I'm not sure how anyone could argue that porn is a force for good in the world. If anything, they've only been arguing for bodily autonomy. I might think bodily autonomy is a good thing, but that doesnt equate to "anything you do with your body is good". Clearly hurting yourself is bad, and that is what porn does to people. Its not even a debate, its scientifically objective. Our bodies and minds are not designed to have sex with thousands of people. Its like saying we shouldn't stop people from eating whatever they want, therefore Mcdonalds is good?!?

some people do porn by posting videos with their spouse, in that case it's not thousands of people but 1 single person, if they're ok with that, then your argument falls apart. also most pornstars don't do it for long, they make 1-2 scenes make a little bit of money and off they go. or some work with the same people again and again. it's not all flat massive orgies.

I Do not WATCH PORN, I do not believe porn is a great thing, she obviously hasn’t spoken to many girls that destroyed their lives over being forced into porn. I love Cindy and the way she is able to articulate, illustrating her own life and feelings about relationship, marriage, children - her expression is wonderful. I’m not really sure - as I am a rape victim - comes down to a man that was over sexed, sexually deviant, wanted to dominate and well anyway…. I agree that there is definitely a huge landscape, and you can't put all the different kinds in the same category together. Many are way, way worse than others. But I think the "literature" metaphor ends there. It's two people f**ing. It's not some high art form. There's no Stanley Kubrick of porn innovating new ways of doing things. There's only really 3 or 4 different things people can do. And having a taboo on discussing this is most certainly a good thing. While I wouldn't want to live in a repressive society that bans or looks down on people who consume porn, I also wouldn't want to live in such a debased, debauched society that discussing porn (or your sex life in general) is a water cooler topic the same as discussing a sports game. It's normal, but taboo. The way it should be.
