What I think we really want from you because you are one of the best with textures for octane when no one else is doing it well. Is and in depth with texturing covering why and how to use the different nodes. When you want to achieve a certain look this is the thought process behind what you would do and why. Like a full ass tutorial!
@no_damage2 жыл бұрын
Like in this tutorial when you added a octane tag and used a subdivision level. I never even knew about that. I'm assuming it ups the subdivision visually but not in the viewpoint giving you a faster render time and a smoother suface.

Hi, thanks for your tutorials, learned so much from you!! But, recently I started doing octane materials from your videos, and could not make it right for some reason it doesnt look like yours att all, I've tried not to improvise and copy exact same parameters, but still result looks very very different. Could it be from octane updates or something ? I will be very grateful for your answer, because I’ve already racked my brains trying to understand(

Awesome work! Does anyone know if i can follow that one with a redshift material or will it be very different?
@NewPlastic2 жыл бұрын
Redshift should work the same way, using noises and mixing them together and applying them on different channels for the results youre looking for.

hi man. bump doesn't work and I don't know why. how can I fix that?
@NewPlastic Жыл бұрын
My guess is that it has to do with the bump contrast & details, too many details and too much contrast get weird results. Find the sweet spot. Also, the right lighting can make or break how the bump looks.

I downloaded the pack but it shows missing the octane plugin.I downloaded in octane x somehow does not appear in my c4d. Do u know What can I do with that ?
@NewPlastic2 жыл бұрын
Hey sorry for the late reply. Does it still not work? My friend just installed Octane X and there's a workaround that needs to make it work, the operation system is blocking Octane from working due to security issues. There's a video on KZbin that shows how to fix it

Hey man I bought the rock pack from your gumroad, but when i apply texture on it as UV mess projection. The texture stretches, and if i make it cubic, the texture looks very bad. How do I solve this? Great tutorial and files tho :)
@NewPlastic Жыл бұрын
If the texture is set to UV Mesh and it stretches then your UVs might be not unwrapped? If you switch it to Cubic, you probably need to change the scale, try to scale it down or scale it up (keeping it uniform) and that should work!
@adarshnegi4919 Жыл бұрын
@@NewPlastic Hello, thanks for your response! I tried to use cubic projection, but it's still messed up I don't understand the UV unwrapping part you mentioned :(

I'm sure there is, the concepts stay the same, using noises in the displacement channel and mixing them around to get different effects

any idea why nothing happens when i plug my noise into transmission?
@NewPlastic3 жыл бұрын
Hmmm could be because the albedo is not black wherever the transmission is on? Also make sure you're on Path Tracing kernel that might help. Also the white in the noise that's plugged into the transmission has to have obvious white parts to really show the transmission
@DeanRipper3 жыл бұрын
@@NewPlastic i followed you pretty closely; black multing the color in albedo, PT (tried raised spec samples), noise going into transmission is pretty BW. might have to update my plugin version and go from there

@@NewPlastic nope :( my mat looks so close, stone in the black area of the transmission map, and just black w/ some spec in the white area of the transmission map
