Most parts follow a structure and actual keys/modes, although it, like the time signature, does often change. For most of the song the root of every key is part of the key of E aolian (minor). The only part where this isn't the case is the outro which instead has roots in the key of E ionian (major). There's E phrygian, A phrygian, E lydian, G lydian, C lydian, B ionian, Db ionian and A ionian, with the song ending with E ionian and an interrupted cadence into the next song. These key signatures are used for entire phrases so I would say the song is not chromatic but the key signature does still change a lot. Of course, there are still chromatic parts, but those are mostly just short parts of a phrase, not entire phrases.

Man, this movie came out when I was six years old and had probably the single biggest musical impact on me. I saw this movie and knew right then and there that I wanted to play the guitar in a band. I used to fantasize about having one of my teachers being Dewey and that I would be the guitar player if that happened in my class. It is basically the reason I picked up playing guitar lol. Love it so much to this very day. The only sin here is for not having a sequel.

I think you need to rewatch the scene prior when Dewey was getting a little to excited when he was told that the bill was full.
