The problem with the recent trilogy is that the denizens of Haddenfield are traumatized the way they are. Michael only murdering for that one night didn't warrant the cloud of doom over the town that was represented in Halloween Kills.

It wasn't just for the one night. He killed Judith in the 60s, then broke out and killed 5 more people in the 70s, then attacked again in the 2010s and killed far, far more people. I think the trauma of this in a small town is totally justified within the films.

Hospitals are usually deserted as soon as supper has been served.. from around 20:00 to around 06:00 the halls are completely empty. Been hospitalized several times and I actually enjoyed roaming the halls at night. Huge place and noone around.
