Man, Alex Mandradjiev is so down to earth and so real for the lack of better words. I've always been inspired by his work. He is to me what Ilya Repin to him.

Haha I'm sure he's very glad to hear that!

Very insightful podcast. I've only recently stumbled across this channel but really love how you give your guests time to speak, and whilst you guys are laid back you take the conversation seriously without goofing around too much like in some other art pods. Keep up the good work!

Came here looking to know what it really meant to be a cinematic illustrator, unlike concept art which is done in pre production stages or illustrations done for promotional purposes for instance... where does cinematic illustration come into picture and how is it different from the rest? is it safe to term it alongside keyframing? Really curious about this one.

Guys thanks so much for bringing Alex in and also thanks Alex for the time that you devoted to the podcast, it was awesome. Just wandering if you have mentioned anything about where his job as a Cinematic Illustrator sits on a film production pipeline !!! (I might have lost it) THANKS AGAIN

He works in pre-production like most concept artists do.

Awesome interview, thanks to Alex for sharing his journey. I remember listening to to an interview with Emmanuel an he spoke about being on a project and how the artist were being tasked and one artist was told to just do their thing and Emmanuel said he decided he had to get his work to a point where he was being asked to do his thing. Is this the guy?

Maybe Eman can chime in here? :)

Such a good interview guys! Not only by the obvious fact that you had Alex, he is a genius in my opinion, but because the subject you touched regarding the importance of having something to tell with your art instead of just focusing so much on doing pretty images but that end up shallow because there is nothing to say with them. Its a subject I feel extremely passionate about , to the point that I have a full course at CGMA about it hahaha :P This interview really resonated with me. Once again, awesome work guys and kuddos to Alex, he is a beast of an artist.
