One of the absolute best of Cinematic Titanic, and that's high praise. Frank and Mary Jo are my favs, but I love them all! There's so much to love about this absolute disaster of a movie -- the super full gas jug, Slade on a rescue mission, the totally official vehicles -- but the best is that it's NOT progeria!

Funniest failed riff is nobody getting Frank's "Flint" phone noise, one guy in the crowd laughs hysterically at the fact that nobody got it but him, Josh laughs at the *guy* laughing, and Frank mutters "I can't believe they didn't get that!!" The woman going "WHAAAAT???" at the cheap explosion, and Frank cracking up at her reaction is incredible, too. The intimate setting and interplay between audience and riffers for these CT Live shows really enhanced these episodes

I love the commentary. As for the movie itself..... On paper this should have been a slam dunk. 3 alien animals being transported to Space Zoo escape and each one is a unique monster with it's own gimmicks and weaknesses. Then the twist that a Superhero Alien is sent to stop the three monsters and you have a B-Movie plot with some shake ups. The problem is the execution. As the Comentary pointed out, the padding in this movie is inexcusable! The scenes of people walking aimlessly through the forest happens way, WAY too many times, important scenes getting stretched out to be longer than they should. Don't even get me started on that random musical number that happens for no reason! On top of all of that is this half assed lame ending that makes very little sense and is so abrupt that I burst out laughing! That is NOT how you end a film. I have seen most of Cinematic Titanic and while I bashed this movie for it's terrible pacing, it is NOT the worst film these guys covered.... but it's not the best film they covered either. Cinematic Titanic tends to focus on more darker material and this was weirdly tame compared to the other films. Frankenstein's Castle of Freaks and the Oozing Skull were awful, but at least they had stuff MST3K couldn't show. I wanted to put this up there with Legacy of Blood, Blood of the Vampires and Genocide, but I can't. It's slightly worse than the Doomsday Machine as that film was consistent with it's themes but the Gianax Ending ruined it. I got angry with Doomsday Machine because it had everything in it's hands and still dropped the ball. This? I felt nothing. The Alien Factor needed some better writers or a higher budget. Something that would cut down the filler and replace it with something that expands the plot or characters. At least Tiki Island was fun.

It's just so nice NOT having Murphy ruining it with his juvenile poop jokes, lame impersonations, and pretentious jazz references. Josh, I blame you for leaving MST! There's no way Murphy could ever fill your shoes. At least you got Bill the gig when Trace left. That makes up for some of it. Oh, and I saw CT live in SF, and it was great.

damn you can REALLY tell they had to script, practice and write down all this. its a real shame. the jokes werent bad but, the delivery, the timing. its all so...rehersed .and saying jokes sometimes before the clip theyure talking about has started. they need improv people. maybe ask red letter media, this seems like their sorta thing. they nail this :}
